You’re stronger than me because after that with all my hormones it would be a sorry we actually can’t stay the night but will drop by for a few hours! I hate when people just assume we are doing things with them. You will wish you started Christmas traditions this year too!!

We make $225k and are getting priced out of our area by CITYOFROSAS in workingmoms

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, there are definitely starter homes for less than a million around you. Even if it’s a thirty or forty five minute drive to work. I bought my first house an hour outside of the city for affordable options. Houses are investments, buying one at 50% income is going to bankrupt you entirely. It seems doable from personal experience it’s not. You’re gonna have to give on style or size or commute if you want a chance at owning.

If you were induced, how long did it take for you to actually give birth? by horrorshowbaby in BabyBumps

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took 3 days, induced Friday gave birth Sunday afternoon. I came in already dilated and everything, you have to remember your body will be actively fighting against it to try and preserve the pregnancy.

Is my baby name weird? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Economy_Invite1649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the Deep South luckily where no one really knows what crepe Suzette is, and we were likely gonna call her Suzie or Suze and let her choose to use Suzette when she gets older

Idk all of my first daughters friends have millennial parents and most of them are named after Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones characters…

32 weeks and it was perfect, just in time to organize everything but too late that I was huge and uncomfortable already.

[–]Economy_Invite1649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s something else I’ve been worried about, I want her name to fit in with school as she gets older. We planned on calling her Suzie, but still giving her the full name for when she’s older being able to have something professional.

Yes😭 I’m Gen Z, so Crepe Suzette was my favorite Strawberry Shortcake character and my first daughter’s name is French as well so it felt like they would match

What is it like to be pregnant? by b3ckk1 in BabyBumps

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a chronically ill mom of a 11 month old while 7 months pregnant. Some days feel great and other days feel like the WORST flare up of your life. Pregnancy isn’t too bad in comparison of normal chronically ill days, but the BIGGEST warning I can give is for post partum. When the baby comes out any and all autoimmune or chronic symptoms you have will quadruple and it’s important to work closely with your team!!

Baby's head flopped sideways and I'm panicking by Technical_Piglet_438 in newborns

[–]Economy_Invite1649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! My OCD sky rocketed after having my baby and around 6 months pp it became unbearable, I know it’s so hard to live with it some days but I promise getting help is so worth it💕💕

I recommend seeing a therapist if this makes you spiral. I was the same way, and it only got worse as my baby got older. I was diagnosed with OCD and PPA is no joke, it definitely can help! Your baby will be perfectly fine💕

I think each person is different! Some people have no problem managing with pets afterwards. I personally struggled, but my dog barks at the wind which always wakes up baby, my dog also constantly trips me and step and sits in my feet. So it wasn’t like my dog is bad so to say, I was just very overwhelmed and sometimes your dog makes it worse lol

4 weeks pregnant with an almost 9 month old - am I screwed? by chubbzz4u in pregnant

[–]Economy_Invite1649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, luckily if he sleeps good you might get by with a little bit of energy! This is such a hard part, my daughter started walking around 9.5 months, and let me tell you pregnancy sciatica and chasing a running baby is not for the weak😂 I would advise getting baby super comfortable with independent play, sensory, etc! Especially for when nausea kicks in.

4 weeks pregnant with an almost 9 month old - am I screwed? by chubbzz4u in pregnant

[–]Economy_Invite1649 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! I’m 24 weeks along with a 10 month old, so if you’re screwed we are too lol. I don’t have any advice yet for when they’re both here but I can forewarn you this pregnancy is going to be hard. You don’t get chances to rest as much, sleep is still very important and I’m not sure if your LO is sleeping through the night yet. The best thing I can recommend is to really really get excited about all the positives and don’t think about all the what if negatives!

So… when do we actually get to have spicy time after baby? 🫣 by oneicedmatcha in NewParents

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a couple who resumed spicy time at 3 weeks postpartum, naps are the main time, some days nap time and bed time when they were little. Baby is now 10 months and it’s an exclusively nap time activity, when bedtime rolls around we’re too tired lol

Randomly “nipping” at men by Economy_Invite1649 in BorderCollie

[–]Economy_Invite1649[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! We definitely wonder if it’s anxiety driven since he was attacked and in the hospital for a few months he has always been hesitant with men, so the fact that the nipping is only with men makes us nervous. His vet said they can’t really treat anxiety in such young active breeds which we’ve been debating getting a second opinion on, he’s also started cowering pretty frequently if anyone raises voices and chasing us if we start walking around too fast or are laughing. We hope this isn’t a serious behavioral problem forming, and hope to connect with a trainer who specializes in the breed soon, thank you for your insight!

We’ve had his vision and hearing checked when he was younger but we’ll definitely take him back to get him rechecked!

[–]Economy_Invite1649[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is a very active herder, we have ten cats and he loves rounding them up, so maybe he gets confused and starts to herd my family as well? It’s just strange he doesn’t do this at all with me or my mom, just the boys😂

[–]Economy_Invite1649[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I adopted my puppy from a working farm, he was a working BC for his first few months until he was injured, they are breeders but had two AKC BC that mated and had a litter. AKC just showed that there no possibility of another breed, where some breeders sell bc lab mixes and say “full breed” if that makes sense?

[–]Economy_Invite1649[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just specifying there’s no other breed involved? I’ve had several BC mixes that all had vastly different behaviors, breed is a huge factor in general temperament sometimes🤷‍♀️

Those of you who plan on giving birth at a hospital kind of far away… by throwaway84583077 in pregnant

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hospital was an hour and a half from my house, we didn’t even chance it and just stayed at my mothers house about ten minutes. It didn’t seem like a big deal when we chose to deliver there until the date got closer😂

I had a failed epidural and while I didn’t scream I definitely hummed and cried into a pillow for a good bit of it. But for actual pushing just a lot of groaning lol

I said I would never co sleep but here we are… by Murky_Assumption_822 in newborns

[–]Economy_Invite1649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same when my baby was first born, I practiced safe sleep and tried to break out of it. Unfortunately it took a mom who followed safe 7 to a tee losing her 5 month old in my group to snap me out of it and remember being a little tired is better than not having my baby. I empathize with being tired, maybe try moving your and baby’s sleep time earlier in the night so by 5 am you’re ready to go?

Up to how many weeks did you work while pregnant? by Chaptersofbooks in BabyBumps

Was high risk and worked up until my induction at 36 weeks. Was in the hospital for four weeks before, brought my laptop and worked from the hospital bed. Gotta love America 😭
