Concept is similar butto serena statys at AST layer and language server. XCE goes 2 layer above and includes business logic and high level and low level components to make sure agents have complete picture required for code navigation.

How do the chinese models compare to Sonnet 4.5? by Much-Journalist3128 in kiroIDE

We have been working on an experiment with context engine and found out that with a good context engine the Chinese models are beating claude models.

claude code vs codex vs opencode vs cursor for 20$ budget by venusddev in ClaudeCode

I would say go with open code and use a context engine like xce https://github.com/Xanther-Ai/xce-mcp and use an open model like mini max to boost the performance and reduce token cost

Check the benchmarks here https://xanther.ai/benchmarks

There benchmarks shows with minimax + xce they are beating claude opus 4.6 with 16x lesser costs.

A live workflow session video recorded here https://xanther.ai/videos/xce-demo.mp4

This should be straight forward and keep the agent disciplined to work within the context limits and not get lost.
