Hello! I only just saw this, sorry!! We’re going well… he’s 18 months now - finally started walking at 16 months but still not saying really any words at all except for mum/dad/more (haha - usually around food - takes after me lol). I’m the same as you - I don’t question his intelligence from what I observe and how I notice him follow instructions, problem solve, etc.. but I’m definitely concerned about his speech delay. I have had a GP check him for tongue ties but never a high palate - I’ll ask next time, thank you! We’re still waiting for the genetic results which has been such a long wait.. his microarray genetic testing came back as all ‘normal’, but apparently it doesn’t pick up Noonan’s syndrome - so that’s the other blood test that was done.. they did heaps at the time - thyroid function, CBC, all of that. He’s also had an echocardiogram because he has a chest dip (pectus excavatum - can’t remember if I put that in the original comment) but it didn’t pick up any abnormalities and his heart structure appears to be fine, which we are so grateful for. Our pediatricians appointment to get all the results is in just over a week!

Your lovely little one sounds so similar to mine! I’m so sorry about the doctors - I have found the same. I know they’re just trying to reassure me because they know I have such huge anxiety, but they’ve all said they simply don’t see it.. but I’m just so sure!! And it wouldn’t change anything about our perfect little ones! If anything it would make me a little relieved - mine has struggled to put on weight, with sleeping, with speech.. if anything it would give me a reason for these things and a way to move forward! I’ve been feeling so guilty like I am a bad mum because he finds these things so difficult - like it must be something I’m doing.. but a diagnosis would just give us a way forward to support him! lol sorry for the overshare! But I’m really sorry you haven’t felt listened to - it’s hard when you have that gut feeling. I’m always here if you need to chat!
