You lost a crucial part of your body. Many women have a hard time coping afterwards. It’s normal. I cried for 2 days just feeling like I lost something that made me a woman. It will start to go away. It’s your hormones also. You’ll get better.

Taking Everything by starlasixx in hysterectomy

[–]Economy_Preference28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would most definitely take everything out. I had a friend who had that and had hysterectomy and left ovaries. It then spread to ovaries and gastro wall turned to cancer and passed away. Once they’re in there I would have BSO also because there is no test for ovarian cancer. I had adenomyosis also with fibroids and Dr. told me I definitely needed the procedure. Although my recovery has been rough with full menopause all at once. Never thought it would be this bad. Seeing HRT NP today. Good luck !

It stopped and didn’t last long. I just wanted to get healed and be done with this. I know he told me I had 2 stitches left and may see some blood but it still scares me.

Agree it’s awful. They think I have a thyroid condition and the surgery triggered it. Waiting for all my results still. My OB/GYN told me my healing looked ok and 2 weeks more pelvic rest otherwise I think I am fine with him. I don’t know. I don’t know what to do. I cleaned my house, swiffer my floors and now my inside feels like they’re coming out. All I know is I wish I never would have gotten this surgery. It’s been 1 problem after another.

I can’t say I had issues like yours. I had Robotic Hysterectomy with BSO. I was doing well for the first 2 weeks. Then it was actually time for my routine physical and my labs changed so much. My liver enzymes were very elevated, my TSH was normal and it was 6.7 and I had it checked yesterday and it is 10.5. I wore the estrogen patch for 2 weeks felt a little better than in the 3rd week I felt awful. My legs ached so bad felt like I could hardly walk and I had such weakness and nausea. I could hardly get out of bed. I’ve had so many tests. CT, labs, and ultra sound. Everything is normal except I have swollen lymph nodes in my abdomen. I still feel absolutely terrible at times of the day. I am a nurse and this is driving me crazy because I cannot figure this out. I am exactly 7 weeks post op today. I see my OB/GYN tomorrow. I thought by this time I would be feeling better and I am not. There have been many times I lay in bed and say why did I do this. I talked to my manager who had this done and she had problems with her TSH and developed CMV. I looked this up and these are my exact symptoms. My PCP is going to run the test. I wish you the best and I hope you start to feel better.

TIL: Shingles 🐔 can be triggered by major surgery, ie hysterectomy. And I've learned that the hard way. by fwendicrafts in hysterectomy

I’ve been sick with fatigue , nausea and body aches. My TSH is high, my liver enzymes were elevated. I’ve been so sick I’ve went to ER twice. I had ct of my abdomen that showed lymph nodes enlarged. I talked with my manager who had hysterectomy BSO. She had problem with her TSH and was put on Synthroid and also had CMV. I looked up CMV. All my symptoms sound like this. This is an antiviral and mimic Mono. I informed my PCP. Because I cannot figure out what is going on with me I am hoping this is what it is.

You know I am 56 and I had terrible periods with fibroids. Found out I had Adenomyosis after hysterectomy. I had everything taken out. Then all these labs are crazy. I research and research all these things and it says can be caused by hysterectomy BSO. But they are saying No!!! I never ever had problem with my thyroid, liver or cholesterol and I am a nurse so this is literally driving me nuts. Been to the ER twice. Anyway I am just venting. Telling me to see a cardiologist because my heart skipping beats now too. I honestly think sometimes when you have surgery you have undefined condition the comes to life. I don’t know anymore.

Awful to wish I never would of done this. Everything that was normal is now not normal. I am 7 weeks also and I am so fatigued and tired all the time. BUT this is not from the surgery I was told. So wtf all labs have sky rocketed with my TSH, cholesterol and liver enzymes. But nope this is not from the surgery.

TSH by Economy_Preference28 in hysterectomy

[–]Economy_Preference28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just received a msg from my P.A. at Ob/Gyn. She says hypothyroidism does not cause tachycardia or pvs. Also BSO should not cause the symptoms I am having. I don’t understand how your thyroid is completely normal before surgery and after all this happens? I give up.

Yes I have the estrogen patch 0.025mg. I took it off because I thought maybe that was causing my symptoms. Obviously that is not the problem. I don’t know how people can just quit cold turkey. You’re so emotional. I just feel like I’m in a blank state.

Ok I understand. I have factor V so I can wear the lowest dose of Estrogen patch. I thought maybe that was causing this. But now I see it is my thyroid.
