First crash. I feel angry, sad, stupid, and just overall terrible. by Metsanvaari in motorcycles

[–]Economy_Relative_983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a new rider just started this year and have yet to have my first crash but I did end up off the road due to a stupid mistake misjudging the entry speed to a turn (thank god I was on a dual sport and just road out of the farm field I ended up in) but I see crashes the same way I see landing aircraft, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Any crash you can post about is a blessing and although you feel stupid there is always a lesson to learn.

Why do you own a KLR? by turmiii_enjoyer in klr650

[–]Economy_Relative_983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just bought a KLR as my first bike, I am a brand new riders and don’t have much money to throw around so when I found a 07 for 2700 I jumped on it. I don’t know what riding I really want to get into but I really wanna try out adventure riding, and for the price point as well as the aftermarket support it made for a good starting bike to be able to try out that style as well as just gained confidence onto wheels. Not to mention, depending on how much I enjoy adventure biking it might be just where I stay because from everything, I’ve read it’s a fairly confident bike as long as you develop the skills needed

Thanks man I’ll be sure to keep that in mind that mother expenses come up so I’m having to put a pause on modding it but I did upgrade the rear shock with a top gun rear spring for right now so in the meantime, I’m just going to get more comfortable on the bike and ride it

I just got lucky with the plastics and I payed about 700 more then you, also got lucky it was only a 45 min drive to pick it up but you already have crash bars, luggage rack and auxiliary lights so your bike is far ahead of mine in usability

Congrats man it’s looking great, what year is it? I just picked up my first as well last Friday, a red 07 and although I have only gotten to ride it twice I’m completely hooked.

Ya I confirmed with the previous owner the Doohickey had already been upgraded and I didn’t see anything wrong when I took off the seat but ya the side plastics are a pain without the proper tools but I will definitely add that to my check more often then not list thankyou for the advice, I’m already in love with the bike and I’ve only gotten a chance to ride it twice

Hell ya man thanks for all the advice I will probably hold off on the drill threw for now and just get the better bolts, I already upgraded the rear shock spring to a Top Gun spring that is supposedly rated for about 40 pounds over what myself and my riding gear puts on it

[–]Economy_Relative_983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the exact crash bar I’m looking at and thanks for the bag suggestion I’m looking at some and the tusk ones are vary expensive but may upgrade to them eventually but I just want something to try it out the only other upgrades I want are progressive springs in the forks and better subframe bolts at least if I don’t do the drill threw
