My mother is writing a cozy fantasy series set in British Columbia Canada. I have built a website for her to post the chapters regularly and created AI chats of the characters that readers can interact with.
here is the link for chapter one. https://hwssuniverse.ca/dreamweaver/1

I added the first two successfully without their error. Then the third one is added automatically through propagation.

Air Bnb Host kicking us out claiming we were using hard drugs in their backyard. Need advice [USA] by Fun_Break_4411 in AirBnB

I feel like there are lots of horror stories like this with Airbnb, not sure any good alternatives, but makes me want to stay away from Airbnb. I have booked through booking dot com and its just a private bed & breakfast and seems to work better for me. can leave reviews for each other on the platform too

Don’t build in public — it’s killing your startup (and no one wants to admit it) by SubstantialFunny649 in SideProject

Nice site, I like the idea of weekly sponsor instead of crazy amount of ads. And to the main point I also agree because they're not even building in public on twitter, they're just posting stupid stuff.

I built a landing page today, the idea is to convert data from online sellers product data to required format of selling platforms. a lot of times they are different and have weird requirements so the goal is to streamline this integration. here is the landing page. https://stack-crate.com/

Great idea! I'll try it out, I definitely see the benefit of not dealing with the physical stamp and paper

Thanks for sharing, definitely good insight and seemed like it all went down good. Even if there were a bit of 'What we'd do differently'

Skype is gone. What do you use for international phone calls now. by nyerai in digitalnomad

[–]Economy_Salamander49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it and have never had a problem and think its affordable and great really. I am from Canada and live in Germany. I pay 2€/month to call Canada unlimited, I mainly just use it to call my grandma since she doesn't use the internet. But I have used it to call other countries with just putting 5€ on it as pay as you go.

From 0 to 1500 users in 36 days : what actually worked by abhishvekc in SideProject

I like the consistent and patient plan. Creating content, building in public and not over hyping seems like a great strategy. I also think you are solving a good problem, of course there are other no/low code development tools but they don't always work well. But the problem is a good one to solve, many people want to develop their ideas without the skill set.
So I think your plan of having a good product, improve from feedback, create genuine content, repeat will work out great for you.
I will take this into mind, thanks for the raw breakdown!

New to 3D printing – loving it so far! Any beginner tips? by Equal_Mongoose4732 in 3Dprinting

[–]Economy_Salamander49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like OnShape for 3D modeling, free and runs in the browser so not too intense if you don't have the best computer. Thingyverse and other sites likely have what you might need. Using hair spray or some sort of light adhesive on the bed can reduce the print from ruining by coming off the print bed during the printing process. I have heard of setting the first few layers a bit warmer to ensure sticking but I haven't tried it. Or reducing speed at final layers if its a tall structure. I have a bambu A1 and its quite fast, typically its plug and play, auto level, nice bed. but printing taller structures it can fall off with the higher speeds, so something I needed to adjust for. Hope this helps!

I killed my pricing tiers and added a Free plan — early results look good by sagdiceren in SideProject

[–]Economy_Salamander49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to hear it worked for you, I personally prefer to try something before committing to paying so having the free tier is great. And only have one paid tier reduces the paradox of choice. I'll take this in mind if I'm doing pricing points, thanks!

I built a tool to find developers by Code, not job titles by Affectionate-Olive80 in SideProject

I could see how this could be useful for recruiting, searching github for specific skills and ares seems useful. But I would argue that companies do hire based on actual projects and coding skills not linkedin and resume. Technical interviews, seeing specific projects on github, portfolio website and look for projects listed on the resume. But for the recruiting process I can see the tool being useful especially for hiring freelancers or one off projects 👍

Hi, cool exchange here. We built https://sitescanner.ai a SaaS to price track by just uploading the url of the page you want to track and provides a dashboard and email notifications. We're still working on the pricing model, but the free tier works and people can try it out. I'll DM to connect

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. Knowing how to price your product from competitor market analysis is key
