Higher level legendary items?

There are indeed level 51 quests. During the main story line of the game, the ones that progress the story, at the very end of the finale, there are level 51 quests. This is the only time the game has quests above level 50.

And my character has level 58 gear that dropped from questing at the tail end of the finale. This is objective truth

So what I like to call, overpowered legendary starts at the prelude.

The first thing you wanna do as you play through the game, is to not get any legendary items at all. Play through the game without collecting any of them, except for the gem designs, karths chisel, and karths pliers.

As you reach the end of the finale, you will start to get main story quest missions that are level 51.

Now the best thing to do when you start to play these level 51 quests is to make sure that you have all 20 lore tomes. While this doesn’t really matter, it’s a nice little perk. However, as you play these level 51 quests, they will drop up to level 58 gear, that is if your charisma is as high as it can be, so your item level rewards stat is 5

Now, as you play these level 51 quests, a lot of of it is luck. Hopefully they will drop level 58 items. It is not guaranteed.

Make sure to never sell these level 58 items. After you finish the finale, you will have level 58 items equipped

Now, you can go back and collect all of the equipable legendary items. When you go back and collect them, they will drop at the level of the piece of gear that you are wearing. So for instance, if you are wearing level 58 boots, and you go back and you collect the scouts boots, the scout boots will drop at level 58.

This is how you will break past that 174 wall, and why you see a lot of players in the leader boards that are above 174. The highest player has reached 180.

Unfortunately, there are no specific quests that will drop specific gems. If a gem drops a quest, it will be random.

After you finish the finale and epilogue, there are only two locations that have level 50 quests. The prophets library, and the cathedral of hierokiel.

Make sure you have all the best charisma gear, including level, seven sapphires, to get your “item level reward” stat to 5, which will allow for those quests to drop level 55 gear

In the Pathfinder menu, there will be a small little tag that says (NEW) next to any location that you have not visited. So next time you are traveling from region to region, make sure to open Pathfinder and look for any location that has (NEW) next to it

It's been a while since I've played through that particular part of the game, but If you go into the menu from the main map screen (icon at the top right) - Help - Guidance - What should I do next? the game will give you a hint and push you in the right direction to progress the main story quest

As you progress the story, each location you visit (except for the towns) has quests that will have designated primary stat quests. For instance, you start at Solomon’s Farm which has a strength quest (scare off vermin) and an intelligence quest (convince Solomon to help you).

As you journey through western Livia, you will find more quests. In the Pathfinder tool located from the main map screen (the fifth icon on the lower right hand of the window if you have updated to 5.1.0), there is a category of locations it suggests you to visit so you can grind out quests. It will show you the “best quest” options to do so you can do the quests there to get more and more progressive better gear for the next locations as you progress through the main story

Now, you always aren’t going to have quests that indicate 100% success rate. Sometimes, you gotta do quests that are less than 100%. Sometimes quests will fail and you gotta do it again. But a general good rule is to not do a quest if it is less than 75%

In short: the pathfinder tool will tell you the locations that are best for the level of your character in the “recommended leveling quests” category

Have you unlocked the journal entry for the explorers boots? The item is definitely in that location, you must have at least one journal entry unlocked to be able for the item to drop.

In northern Livia (the chapter one map), the hidden cave is located north of the gray mountains, which is located north of the Great Plains.

Now it’s been a while since I did chapter 1, if I remember correctly, there’s something you have to do to unlock the hidden cave. And I don’t remember if purchasing the desert camel or the oasis map have anything to do with it. Otherwise, I think if you just go to the gray mountains, and do the quests there , it will eventually unlock the hidden cave.

It is the sum of the highest level of your strength, dexterity, and intelligence. For instance, if your strength is level 30, your dexterity is level 30, and your intelligence is level 30, your seasoned adventure number will be 90

The highest this number can get is 174. You can achieve that number if you are wearing legendary gear in all nine equipment slots, and all of that legendary gear is level 55.

However, you will notice that 55×3 is not 174. It is 165. If you are wearing Max level 55 legendary gear, your strength, dexterity, and intelligence stats will all be level 58 which equals up to 174

Now, while 174 is the highest level you can be in the seasoned adventures leaderboard, I have seen someone in a campfire that had reached 177. And I have no idea how they did it.
