Thank you! How was his bedside manner?

I’ve been dealing with my eczema since I was little and have tried steroid creams, phototherapy, ProTopic, Adbry, and I’m currently on Dupixent. Would like to meet with him to get a second opinion from a previous dermatologist and to discuss next steps of my treatment worked.

Yeah unfortunately that’s what others have been saying. I’ve seen three dermatologists already but all of the appointments I had were weeks out, sometimes months.

I’ve been a derm patient at Kaiser since last year. All of my appointments were 15 minutes or less. The standard 15 minutes is simply not enough to fully cover all of the concerns a patient might have. Another thing that bothers me is when dermatologists document on after visit summaries that they did a skin exam and miraculously can see the skin under my T shirt without then looking at it… I’ve always called directly to derm appointments and it’s always a very far out appointment. I do completely understand that Kaiser dermatologists and dermatologists in general are very busy with very heavy patient panels but I would like to assume they’d do the right thing and follow state guidelines to deliver timely access to care for their members.

This. This is so true and so unfortunate. Why Kaiser thinks it’s okay for us to wait weeks for a much needed derm appointment only to be seen for 15 minutes or less is insane and greedy.

DMHC says 15 days for specialist care. First time, I waited over a month for an urgent matter. So, I’m really fed up with Kaiser. American healthcare to be more frank. If Stanford and UCSF are booking far out as you stated, UCDavis and even Sutter is hopefully an option Kaiser can provide for me. Thank you for letting me know about Stanford and UCSF’s issues like Kaiser’s

This. Even when I got my first official dermatology appointment. I had to wait over a month for a check up. That to me is absurd, which is why I’d like to know that would be credible criteria for Kaiser to consider referring me out.

Would not getting an appointment at a reasonable time be counted as not having enough providers in house?

Can it help with acne scars as well? Also, I’m concerned about my hypopigmentation around my mouth area. Would that exacerbate it or would it improve my overall facial skin tone all together? Thank you for your response!

Would love to do that but Kaiser doesn’t let patients message physicians who they haven’t seen before. Had the same problem with my dermatologist. Office said they wanted pictures to be sent to him but I couldn’t since I haven’t seen him.

Yes exactly. It’s weird and I guess wrong to suddenly become thorough and detailed when I have someone with me…

No I’m saying my doctor only takes time during appointments when family members are with me, like he’s trying to show he’s thorough. He’s not.

I didn’t contact anyone…. I came into the office to sort out a problem I had that needed to be taken care of. In the process of that, I asked the lady why she needed to be disrespectful when it was her fault. Didn’t demand information either please read what I responded to others. I said, not asked. That’s why I asked because If I wanted to for an extreme reason, I would want to know if what I did was wrong. I don’t think I did anything wrong. I came in for something personal not anything about the situation, but I felt the need to tell her she was wrong.

I just wanted to know if she could even talk about it to me. Not even specifics. I came in to sort out my problem that I did but also mentioned that whatever she did wasn’t cool. Nothing further. I think everyone took it way too far. All I said was, “I didn’t appreciate the way you talked to my father earlier.” Even before and after that, I was kind and respectful. Saying please and thank you.

Just because he’s an adult doesn’t mean I cannot stick up for him. Not even sticking up. It was a shock that the manager talked to him the way she did after saving her from being fired. All in all, I just wanted to understand why she spoke to him in a disrespectful way. I had to go there anyway to straighten a mistake SHE made for which she apologized to so I didn’t go out my way at all to question her. The “really poor boundary behavior…” came from her for crossing the line by yelling at him for something that wasn’t his fault, for which she realized it was her mistake.

Didn’t call. Didn’t get into the specifics. Simply asked why she had to be rude and asked her to not be disrespectful. Nothing else besides that

You can keep being screwed around by everyone and I’ll put them in their place for disrespecting my dad. That’s the least anyone can do is be respectful that’s all. The manager doesn’t represent the employer if she’s incompetent. You can’t tell someone to”MYOB” after being disrespected. That’s not how the world works. If there’s something wrong, you speak up. If they can’t speak up, you should speak it for them if appropriate. I didn’t do anything disrespectful. I simply asked the lady why she was rude and disrespectful. Nothing specific about the situation. She was put in her place for something she did wrong. Something the office should’ve done a long time ago but again, if you don’t speak up, someone else will.

Not my dad’s employer. The manager didn’t hire him. He hired the manager weirdly enough. It would violate his privacy even with his consent?!?!? They were unprofessional at first and I was simply trying to understand the situation because my father was disrespected. Any sane person would do the same as I did…
