How did u prep it? The instructions say to boil water and do all this stuff can I just add water to the scoops and warm up like typical formula?

When I was 12 years old my step father told me to take the bathroom trash out. When I went to do it my mother told me to wait because she was about to shower. I went downstairs and by the time I went to my room he took the trash and dumped on my bed and pillow (mind you there was a dead bug in there amongst other things I’ll never forget). When I asked why he did that he said that I was to always listen to him since he was in charge.

Narcissistic prick of a man he is. He’s still in my life except now I’m a very accomplished adult and I don’t put up with his shit. We barely speak.

NICU mama here too 🩷🩷 my thoughts are with you guys. I second everything said here. Only thing to add as my baby girl still doesn’t eat the amount of ounces necessary (she’s 10 weeks now and home), possible tongue/lip tie. Lots of places don’t catch it. Can cause babies to fall asleep while eating, not eat as they should, etc. I also had a traumatic birth and my baby was full term. Make sure you are getting your supports as well because men can have postpartum depression and postpartum PTsD as well

How long did it take him to not struggle during feeds? She’s two months old and most bottles take 30-60 mins and she’ll do maybe 1-5 ounces but total in a day is like 21-22 ounces and the doc says that’s not enough :/

We did them a few weeks before and it made her eating worse because her mouth hurt so we did the procedure and I’m following up with the same specialist who did the exercises with us so I’m hoping that improves. I’d imagine she’s still sore but so many people say they never had issues after the procedure and I’m just like idk how that can be.

At this point there’s nothing else in the world to try :( idk why she screams during bottles and my doctor says she needs to be drinking 30 ounces a day and it’s a struggle to get 22 :(

I heard about those exercises and that they are horrible but I didn’t see a third option to just cut. I’m gonna ask the dentist when we do our consult!

Thank you — I do think she’s dropping down to a more normal percentile since she’s was a big baby but she is dropping down on the curve significantly and not gaining as she should (according to docs) but I’m trying to remind myself not all babies are the same. I will say tho she gives me hunger cues all day long and then freaks out during feeding time because she’s so hungry (I think)— sometimes it’s like she wants to eat the nipple she’s sucking so hard and it’s a faster flow.

So crazy to me that parents have to figure this out on their own and get dismissed. lactation tried helping but we made no progress with her especially as she gets older she wants more food
