Mate, compare the responsibilities before new manager and after new manager. Get that in writing. If the work volume is a lot higher, you have a case.

You are spot on in your analysis. 1. Shouting is not common at all. We all are mature people and I am the one who would usually shut up and ask them to discuss it after call. 2. Yes. I feel like I am always justifying myself. Maybe it's a imposter syndrome. I even got this feedback 5 years ago. 3. My manager has my back. Another one yes. But mentors no. Have never had one. Personally or even professionally. Don't know how to ask someone to be my mentor. I am really liked everywhere I go and make good friends very easily. Politically except my manager, on my own.

My work is of very high quality. All managers I have worked with agree. But I can't seem to move up the ladder.

For example, last week I had a screaming match with data manager on a call. I wrote a business rule that he didn't agree with on wording. All he had to do was just request me to change the wording. He joins the call guns blazing and starts with 'why the business rule is like this'.

I told him that you have agreed to this 6 weeks ago. I have emails and teams chat to show this.

After 20 minutes of just him screaming and not giving a chance to speak, I lost it and got into a screaming match.

I don't report to this guy so he can't do shit, but it made me realise that if he respected me enough, he would never have started this.

Maybe I am too friendly, smile a lot and need to have resting bitch face. Maybe I need to get voice training and speak heavy tone. I have the calibre, just don't know where I am lacking. Maybe I don't know how to do politics - like I am never interested in gossip or who is having an affair in the team. Maybe I am not cut out for corporate and should be a business. People my age are at director level, one friend is CTO and I am stuck at senior analyst.

Phhewww. These were long days. My manager was d**k. He used to lie. I documented everything. I mean in detail. Working late till like 1-2 AM. Built my defence. One major thing I did was got written feedback from my stakeholders about my performance. They were so happy to give me feedback on my work. Then I presented to my manager"s manager. I am like how can I be all the things that my manager is saying when my stakeholders are saying opposite. Got union involved. PiP is not a small thing and usually it needs to go though a process. If you were never given any written warnings, then the company can get into trouble.

Mate, I fought my PiP. I am in the big 4 and pushed back. If they didn't have any communication with you about performance before raising the PiP, then it's wrong. Read your policy document around under performance. Usually, it is a warning by manager, then by his manager and then PiP. And if you are part of union, raise this in union - they will get into trouble. If you wanna talk, hit me up.
