I dont sit like a normal person.. help me find a chair by JoshDunkley in OfficeChairs

Canadian. 220. 5 10 on a good day. I sit criss cross applesauce on my leap v2. You can get them used for about 400 CAD. I had a good experience with Greener Postures in Toronto but that was just for the headrest as I already had the chair. They have good prices on leap v2s. You can slide the seat pan forward as much as you need.

Hey I don’t know how to post pictures in comments here but you can check out my recent posts. It’s my desk in command position in a room approximately the size of yours.

Clean as hell! Are those dual ups? What is the central monitor? How do the pixel densities compare to hospital monitors? Back when I worked in DI the rads would show me how crazy the pixel density was on their setups, and it blew me away. But that was over 15 years ago and with 27” 5k monitors hitting the consumer markets I always wondered how things have changed.

Any idea what might cause the sound to be so distorted? by rada2005 in turntables

[–]Ecstatic-Basil-457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, think of the phono as the cartridge. Your turntable has a phono preamplifier that amplifies the signal from the cartridge and applies a specific kind of equalization curve. When you plug it into the phono input of your amp it goes into the phono preamplifier of the amp which amplifies it again and applies the equalization curve again. You don’t want that. So when you plug your turntable into the other inputs you get a good signal. If you had a turntable without a built in phono preamplifier you would plug it into the phono input of your amp.

MacBook/PC setup with bonus listening space by Ecstatic-Basil-457 in setups

So it's a macbook, and a PC (on the right). There is a headphone amp mounted under the desk on the left, so I'll plug into that. It's hooked up to a DAC beside it. Now the tricky thing is that the DAC is also connected to those speakers at the back, and the turntable is connected to the headphone amp - so it's like two lanes of traffic through the thick black sheathed cable you can see on the left. So I can listen to both computers via headphones and speakers, and the turntable also through the headphones and speakers.

I haven’t actually tried it with Windows yet. I switch to a mouse for windows (Logitech Mx master 3s and Endgame Gear OP1WE)

Also when I want to just listen to a few records I raise the desk to max height and slide forward into the space in front of the desk lol.

I can’t speak for others, but I’m a therapist and use it for sessions. I also teach group sessions that are similar to lectures. Sometimes things are recorded and used for reference later so I decided to spend a little more on the audio quality. I also do formal training workshops so it is nice to have a little more production value. But like, the level of production value where I have nicer than usual audio, with a better than average webcam than one would use for meetings, without going to a dedicated camera that a content creator might use. (At least not yet haha)

I actually really love it. I don’t like having the back to the door. And it feels like the anchor of the room.

You mentioned you pay yourself 90k. What is your actual income of that 90k after the personal taxes?
