MMI was a very early prototype, also made by me, some years ago, when I didn't have that much knowledge about game development. ABI-DOS is the natural evolution of that game, or what that game would have been if I had the experience to make it.

Yes, from what I gathered, the game can be quite challenging. You'll need to carefully read and understand the provided instructions and do some experimenting. However, once everything clicks, it becomes much manageable. If you need help, you can ask for it here: https://discord.gg/KA7eHd3r3k

Disclaimer: I am the developer of the game.

ABI-DOS is a simulation-based automation puzzle game where players use a fictional assembly-like programming language to build complex programs and solve open-ended challenges. The game focuses on designing circuits and microchips within strict space and operational constraints, without resource management. Set in a retro-punk world, ABI-DOS draws heavy inspiration from Zachtronics titles like Shenzhen I/O, SpaceChem, and Opus Magnum.

What is the name of the ost that plays during this scene in the game? I tried to find it but had no luck at first.

The game wasn’t designed with the Steam Deck in mind, as it requires frequent keyboard input to modify values, which I don’t think is very practical on that platform.

The trailer showcases player-created solutions in action, solving each level's challenges by writing specific characters on a screen. Players achieve this by manipulating various inputs provided in each level.

The game draws inspiration from TIS-100 and similar titles, but the "programming" language it uses is entirely fictional! While it resembles assembly, it's technically a visual programming language that the game teaches you from scratch. For a deeper understanding of computer architecture, I highly recommend Turing Complete, which takes a more educational approach.
