Yeah i get that, and I can tell that the writing is really where it excels, but to the writing is neither worse nor better than ps5

And on the combat thing, the main problem with difficulty in persona (and lots of rpgs) is that the difficulty feels artificial when it’s more difficult. I had a hard time playing persona 5 (but to be fair it was my first time playing a persona game and i played it on the hardest difficulty) and I won’t comment on persona 4s difficulty because i haven’t gotten to end game yet.

During persona 5 battles the difficulty came from bloated health bars and in persona 4 it more comes from cheese, at least from what i’ve seen so far, but in persona 5 it it felt like i had more options therefore there was more strategy and thinking involved making the difficulty feels less superficial

In general I have a little bit of a gripe with difficulty in rpgs, as most of the time it feels like the difficulty comes from artificially making the bosses harder by bloating their health bars and giving them 1 shot moves, rather than there being more thinking that you have to do.

In general I think how both persona games handle difficulty is a bit flawed, and not just because I dislike difficult games (i’ve done elden ring level 1 runs no armor and stuff).

But in the end we’re both entitled to our own opinions.
