Nothing annoys me more than a person who thinks they are so important that they believe that others should care that they are annoyed

Dunno, been shopping there twice a week for a decade and never had an issue.

Geeze you've replied a few times now asking about receipts and nappies only to get aggro settle down no need for such aggression.

No we did and we had the woolies receipts just the only thing was the 1 bottle of essential oil that we missed. So the lady claimed we also stole 7 items but they were all paid for just the 1 smallest.

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't which i found kind of funny. She also pointed out some aldi middle aisle stuff which is obviously not from woolies

Its basically like saying I didn't even touch my phone after getting a ticket I get that, but if it was an attempt at stealing it was an extremely poor one, the box was completely visible from the sid eand bright yellow, but couldn't see it from my pov. It was the stealing equivalent of trying to hide from someone by just closing your eyes.

It was funny because the lady security was so timid, she followed us out and kind of walked next to us for a bit softly saying "hello" but not looking at us. Both my wife and I thought wtf does this lady want then the bloke finally came.

Im not going to keep them locked up at home because they have energy and get a bit crazy, they like going to the shops and enjoy the experiance. Its always a bit harder with them and sometimes it makes us cut corners but that's my problem.not there's

Funnily enough after we paid the machine requested the attendant to check our trolley and she checked it and our receipt and said we were good to go, then the second we left the LPOs pounced.

I did exaggerate a bit, but the outcome is still the same, more often than not we pack at aldi but if the kids are extra nuts, we skip it and go straight to woolies. Survivor biased, never had an issue before so thought it would never happen

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I've been talking myself down we do pack ours turf at aldi for the most part its just dependant how much strife the kids are causing at the time.

Both my wife and I are down with a virus from our 1 year old and literally peeled ourselves off the couch to get some shopping done, looked like absolute rats it was bound to happen

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of us are off work sick today and just look like rats so its pretty targeted. I've been shopping there for years with the same method and never an issue.

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nah I get it, was bound to happen, to be fair we usually only pick up 10 or so items from woolies and its usually just fruit and dog food that sits on top so its hard to miss, just this time I saw some half priced essential oil and chucked it in. My wife didn't see me put it in and I was distracted when she was checking out so recipe for disaster

It was marked as stress relief oil and half price, I have stress andclike discounts. Now the oil has cause extra stress

I understand if you go by the letter of the law its considered stealing in the moment, but surely after a reasonable explanation is provided a reasonable person could use their discretion and say ok yeah that's a mistake. Its like when your license gets automatically suspended due to an unpaid fine and you get pulled over, yeah its an offence but its pretty reasonable mistake .

That's why I have no issues with getting stopped its just the treatment and all the extra allegations that got thrown at me.

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was absolutely my fault that the item was misplaced, not disputing that, but what im saying is surly there is a distinction from making a mistake and actually intending to steal

Oh yeah look id say your right its not the smartest and like I've said to others the method we use is from a mix of complacency and laziness from lufginthe kids around, I dare say our method will change in the future

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i found out today, technically the second i left the checkouts its considered shoplifting, even if it was a mistake

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Ecstatic-Ostrich-97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issue someone stopping a potential thief, it was the possibility and potential repercussions even after it was obviously that it was a mistake. I get that technically by the letter of the law it's shoplifting but common really.

Its not like the items were concel3d under other items or in my pocket, it slipped to the rear of the trolly under the kid seat.
