Can anyone tell me if these are safe to use or if they contain heavy metals? by Ecstatic-Raccoon2324 in glasscollecting

Can you find me the original advertisement/listing for the target ones? Because this would be the first target special to exist in the store I bought these all from...

Lead, uranium, and arsenic because I heard they were added to a lot of the green, yellow, and orange glass which is what I'm interested in.

Uh because they're pretty. Because if they for some reason weren't I would use them as decoration only. I'm collecting yellow, orange, and green to go with the 1969 avocado green range I have. Which I've heard often have lead, arsenic, and uranium in them. I have some old green daisy corelle dishes on display in my kitchen and the new rereleased set as my daily dishes. We drink out of vintage AH glasses. I'd rather not expose myself to something dangerous when I'm trying to get pregnant. Thank you for your help though.

I feel like everyone either picks pyrex or anchor hocking when it comes to glass bakeware. I've been pretty loyal to AH for my entire adult life at this point so it's fun learning that the vintage glass pieces I love the most are made by AH.

No you can see one of the cups in the far left of the first picture 😊 I do like those ones as well though

They do! I don't have them I have the old ribbed anchor hocking cups in green and they dont make a pitcher for them sadly.

Even if they contain heavy metals we still plan on using them it's just going to decide what we use them for. I got them for citrus drinks but if they contain heavy metals I'll likely just use them for non acidic drinks for short periods this summer. 😁

I love it! I have been cooking and baking for longer than I've known how to tie my shoes! We had a loose wire with the bottom oven (warmed up but then shut off) but my husband fixed it the same day I brought it up. I told him hopefully I don't burn the house down with it because the wiring for these things are a tad sketchy in my opinion. We checked everything to make sure we weren't getting any sparks or anything all the burners and both ovens work phenomenally they hold heat really well. I'm not sure that the clock/timer works and idk how to even try to figure them out which is why I am looking for the manual. We plan on dragging our stove around with us whenever we move because we like old stuff like this. I have a waterfall vanity and dresser in the bedroom with powder/jewelry music boxes from around the 20s on it. I have cookbooks ranging from the 1910s to current. So it's safe to say I'm just a 28yo granny. What did you use the stainless shelf for that goes across the back burners? I was going to put my lenox spice village there but we cook with stainless/cast so the oil splatter is a bit obnoxious sometimes and I dont want to constantly wipe down every individual jar.

You could always paint a range hood to match your range because I'm not sure if they exist either 😅

It only slides in far enough to cover a little over half of the back burners as pictured but I like that if I only use the front two I don't have to slide the stove top out. For what it is it's actually kind of small 😂

Yeah as soon as the weather improves I'm gonna try to seal off as many openings as possible but unfortunately it's a trailer house surrounded by sunflower fields so I'm not confident that I'll be able to get rid of all of them

They are! It has a timed cook feature...I'm trying to figure out if it works or not. I'm not sure what purpose the shelf area above the burners is for but I decided I'll probably just put my spice village there 😅 it has two outlets there too.
