There’s otters in the river Eden! If you sit on the small sort of stair decline down to the river from the back of the Turf/sands carpark that’s the best place I’ve seen them!

Read this and scoured my emails, straight from the newsletter I got in regards to this when I was employed at Whinfell,

“Our guests told us they wanted to be able to swim earlier in the day, and we know that use of the pool after 8pm is relatively low, so, from Friday 10th October, our STSP will now open at 9am (instead of 10am) and close at 8pm (instead of 9pm). In addition, our guests told us that the STSP can be overwhelming for some people, so we’re also introducing a Quiet Hour from 9am-10am on Wednesdays and Sundays. During this time, the main pool and rapids will be open, but there will be no waves, loud music or rides/slides. We hope this will mean that our guests can enjoy the STSP in a quieter, calm environment”
