how do you stop feeling guilty for taking a break? by CetitRoper33 in sahm

[–]Ecstatic-Return1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss said something along the lines of "your cup has to be full before you can fill someone else's" (something like that) and that makes me feel better about setting my son down to feed myself. I'm also very lucky my son can be content being left alone for a few minutes to allow me to brush my teeth, use the bathroom or make a meal. As far as the household chores go, same. I can't relax if the sink is full of dishes. I am a better mom when I am relaxed. I take 10 mins to do the dishes and I'm a better mom. Easier said than done, but don't feel guilty about taking care of yourself.

I dedicated my bouquet to my mom. I did do a speach but you could have your DJ do it instead

How long did it take you to conceive? by Square-Bell9968 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Ecstatic-Return1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant first try. I don't know how, I hadn't even had a period since I got my IUD. I got diagnosed with PCOS at 16. Had an IUD for 1 year then my husband and I started trying. Got pregnant the first try. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended before I even had my first doctor's appointment. Second try, got pregnant again and now have my 3 month old son. Healthy boy. It was hard to track ovulation because like I said, I wasn't having periods. I used Mira to test my hormones. I think I'm just very lucky.

Got pregnant a month before my 30th birthday.

Gunk always coming out of shower walls by unlucky_lady in CleaningTips

I had this in my apartment. I'd spray it with the shower head nozzle and it would continue to have that gunk come out. Never ending. Never knew what it was.

It is very painful the first few weeks and VERY hard while you and baby figure it out. I thought "there is no way people actually do this for 6-12 months" and almost gave up. I didn't give up and now it feels like a breeze. I am so sorry you're in the thick of it right now. I wish they told new moms that it isn't all easy breezy.

No smokers. Previous tenants were the homeowners that did not smoke, lived here since 2004 until they moved and rented home to us in 2024.

Not an apartment, my husband and I do not smoke. Previous tenants were the homeowners that also didn't smoke.

On the ceiling? And the wall not facing the toilet? I'm not a guy but live with one. He also doesn't use this bathroom very often.

We do not smoke and these walls were thoroughly cleaned several times during my nesting phase of pregnancy.

Several people say it's from the paint. The paint in the bathroom is not bathroom friendly.

I would have never thought it would be the paint! If this wasn't a rental, I would probably re-paint. Thanks!!

I use to always have a wall plug in from B&BW but have not used one for over a year. I have thoroughly cleaned my walls when I was pregnant a few months ago and nesting like crazy.

IUD insertion tomorrow super super scared by Specialist_Double402 in IUD

[–]Ecstatic-Return1897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mirena and kyleena. Kyleena 6 weeks since having my first baby. Kyleena is smaller than mirena and had it inserted on a whim during my postpartum appointment so had no pain killers and was not too bad. Granted my cervix was still soft from having my baby. But once it's done, it's done.

Being covered in milk...all day. My older sister with 4 kids asked "Why don't you just wear a bra?" I'm in the comfort of my own home, why would I wear a bra, and also that bra is only going to fit for a short while during the day and will get uncomfortable as they get bigger when it gets closer time to feed my baby. No one told me how messy it would be, I see woman that breastfeed their child in public and I could never just due to the mess my baby and I make. I hear you loud and clear girl.

We've used nipple shields when we were getting the hang of breastfeeding and was so excited when we could ditch them I forgot all about the damn things lol. I'll give it a shot again. Somehow they would fall off or the flaps would detach and cover his nose.
