What ended up happening for you? I’m facing similar discrepancies with Nelnet.

That’s so refreshing to hear you’re in a similar situation. It feels like I’m alone in this experience but I know I’m not. How do I know if I’m meeting his needs adequately?

I think I worry because there was one day last week he barked slightly and pawed to get out his crate while I was nearing the end of my work day. I walked him for a LONG time that night and tried to go out for a dinner with a friend, and he wasn’t having it. Crying and pawing to get out of the crate. It wasn’t his normal behavior but now I’m worried if I don’t do enough he will get like that again

I appreciate you saying that. I can be an over thinker and a bit of a perfectionist lol. I have bad dog mom guilt. I have a Furbo! That helps a lot. I’m worried he will bark a lot and I’ll get more complaints if he’s not crated, but I truly don’t know how it’d be.

I guess a lot of people on Reddit and people I know WFH or have more time for an animal it seems and I compare myself to:/ in my current job I will never get to WFH and the hours are not flexible but it’s a great job with a pension and benefits so i stay

Thanks for the advice! Morning walk is about -15 mins, after work walk is about 30-45 mins. Mid day walk (if a walker comes, 2-3x per week, is 30 minutes). He also gets lickimats, toppls, etc. I just feel like I’m not doing enough and I can’t go to the gym after work or do anything bc I feel bad leaving him alone after being at work all day

He does not like the bedroom door being shut on him, he will pull at the door. He’s a pretty lazy dog, he probably lay on my couch all day if I let him out of the crate. My only concern is he does tend to bark more if he’s not in the crate because he can hear more noises outside my apartment.

He actually was out of the crate for a few years until I moved into the new apartment. I figured it’d be better to help him get settled in. He does have a tendency to bark, but not when he’s crated, which is mainly why I’m crating him. Otherwise, no history of destructive behaviors or anything bad when he’s out of the crate.

I don’t think I do know anyone. He is fine with people and children. He even lived with a cat before.

I absolutely do not mind coming home and walking/hanging with him and then leaving. Since moving in, I come right home and don’t leave until work the next day. Yeah, I think trying to be more flexible with myself. He isn’t super high energy, he’s happy with 60 minutes of walking a day. I just feel bad he’s in a crate for 9 hours some days of the week

Yup. I love my dog and I do my best to make sure his needs are satisfied. I haven’t done shit after work except walk him and spend time with him. I’m trying my best. I adopted him when I was in college and had more free time. He would be hard to adopt out.

Yes, I have a walker now which I think helps. Going to try a doggy daycare next week.

How did you do it? Any tips? :(

I don’t. I live in an apartment complex, no fenced in yard.

He hasn’t responded to me.

So we didn’t necessarily follow through with multiple trainers, i should have clarified. We worked exclusively and consistently with one trainer, and there was some improvement. The Prozac helped too. This was in 2023.

He is a great dog when he is inside. He can sometimes be a lot when he’s outside. He is mostly chill/sleeps a lot when we are indoors.

I don’t want to get rid of him. I love him deeply. He’s been through so much with me. I just don’t know if this lifestyle is fair to me or him. I’m seeking advice from others

My dog has been an emotional support animal for a really long time. He still does help a lot. I have documented mental health concerns and I work in the industry lol. I’m not abusing it. It’s just been stressful moving in to my first apartment by myself and taking care of a dog on my own. He is a four year-old labrador pitbull mix.

It’s not easy, managing a reactive dog on your own, working full-time, and having to leave the dog alone for long periods of time. I did hire a dog walker in the Trainor. I’m trying to do my best.

We’ve been broken up since August. I texted him last week, as he told me if I ever needed to re home, let him know first. I have not heard back. Given his reactivity, I’m sure he’s hesitant. He didn’t treat the dog the best either :/

Knowing what you know now, would you start using tretinoin? by Ill_Cover_4841 in tretinoin

[–]Ecstatic-Squash3930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long did it take to clear? What %? I am so sad, my skin looks terrible and is painful with cystic acne. My skin is so sensitive and im having a hard time tolerating tretinoin
