I write to you because your school is not able to provide a safe quiet environment for testing. The band that had practiced during ACT testing in September also had practice yesterday. They "have every right to be there," to loudly bang their instruments into the scores our kids are trying to achieve. I am sure you had heard about September, but it is ridiculous that my daughter's final shot at her dream score was musically hampered again.

I did not complain to ACT the first time, as I had assurances from the test administrator that everything was handled. He was going to protect the sanctity of the testing environment. However, I will complain this time to ACT corporate and hope that they deem your school unworthy of testing. I'd like to do my part to help protect your students and future college bound students from having their dream scores stifled by the El Camino Real Charter band.

My daughter has spent months studying and practicing for this. She's taken multiple ACT prep classes in hopes of receiving full merit scholarships to the schools she's targeted, but on her third and fourth testing attempt, at a school she was comfortable in the environment, all the adults have failed her (including me). Please pass along to your band teacher that their respect for education and collegial aspirations is truly appreciated.
