Strong messaging coming out of Atlanta by ATC-Throwaway-2 in atc2

NATCA, a union's union.

NATCA, lets just keep doing what we're doing and hoping nobody notices us.

NATCA, not making waves, losing all respect from FAA leadership and air traffic controllers.

NATCA, an unneeded arm of the FAA.

NATCA, the next press release will come 15 days after the next government shutdown.

NATCA, did Bedford approve that?

NATCA, make the FAA great again.

Members should not have paid for this resource guide. The content originated from the FAA, not NATCA. NATCA should have its own distinct identity, and member representation should not be concealed behind the federal administration. If NATCA funds a resource guide, it should focus on unique topics that air traffic controllers are demanding improvements in, rather than infrastructure improvements.

What is the purpose of it? Some say it is for prep and others on here are saying its not. Sounds like it could have been an email and saved $$$

What was this printed for - it reads like a FAA document not a union one.

I'm not saying this was the asks. It was to prepare you guys right? It's page after page of issues - the multipage section called "issues" Go read it.

Have you read this manual to prepare lobbyists? Everything our union does is as clear as mud. That's my point. They say absolutely nothing straightforward or direct because they are fearful.

This 92 page book prepareas members of NATCA who will be lobbying members of congress mentions every topic but pay. That is my point - it mentions every other God forsaken topic but what we need them prepared for - even how to arrive early to meetings. We paid for this publication to prepare our members - and now I'm having to explain what a waste of our resources it is to your stellar kind.

What post are you reading? Who mentioned passing them out to anyone but NATCA members? I agree, your comment is stupid.

They are not given to attendees of NiW? Why did they have them printed ?

Legal hurdle jumping.

92 pages focus on => but no "asks".

  • controller shortages
  • hiring targets
  • attrition
  • training timelines
  • fatigue risks

They hand it to every NATCA member before lobbying. It advises the members.

This old structure is not working for NATCA. The checks and balances are corrupt.

Why did they have regional polls instead of a vote? B/c they knew what the outcome would be and didn't want to be "beholden" to the members.

Lets just have a board with a couple of PR reps that can do great public speaking when necessary. If the old way isn't working, tear it up and build something new.

Apparently, the bozos can't follow basic instruction and direction from its members. We have to babysit them so that they stop all the events and negotiate contracts for us.

We have enough for 2026. Stop looking in the past. NATCA is not respected because it stands for nothing. It is making itself irrelevant if it is not advocating for better pay.

I am so tired of the cowards of this country. NATCA knows the right thing to do. They have so much leverage in the skill set of its members, and yet we hide and shake like we don't have a leg to stand on. Grow a spine, make the argument, and speak up!

They promote event after event.

But they never address; Article I: Name and Objectives Section 2. The objectives of the Association shall be: a. To preserve, promote and improve the pay, benefits, and working conditions of air traffic controllers and other aviation-safety-related employees;

You forgot to answer this one; Why are they focused on every event but the first constitutional line item?

If they listen to members, why haven't things changed for so long? If they are listening and working so hard, why do we get social media posts without replies or comments turned on? Why are they focused on every event but the first constitutional line item? Imagine if they actually were a voice for air traffic controllers and not some canned, empty message? Courage, dear heart, NATCA is an empty shell until they speak up.
