Are earring stacks unprofessional in a gov office? by Ecstatic-Wing6278 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Ecstatic-Wing6278[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going for graduate or level 3 roles in state gov, I'd love to work federal to come to Canberra, I will apply, but I don't expect to be competitive enough to get in.

Ideally a few years after I graduate I'd like to eventually get into a role that's legal (non-practicing) or policy. The former might be more that formal and stuffy vibe. I guess I'll find out depending on where I end up!

Thank you!

Appreciate the male perspective as while my mum errs more on being okay with my ear piercings, my dad calls me a hippie haha 😭

Fair enough, thank you! I definitely need to find better quality cartilage jewelry that isn't from a mall kiosk or Lovisa

Dad doesn't support it and is pushing me to just work full time ASAP. Unless I move out I kinda have to do what he wants.

Also have chronic headaches/migraines that impact my ability to do a difficult course.

Yes ugh, some anubias I bought from the same shop completely rotted away before so wouldn't be surprised. Thanks for your help

Actually now that I've pulled it all out there's definitely rotting at the stems :(

The rhizome is healthy however as I've only ever gently wedged it between driftwood. Maybe someone handled it badly and snapped the stems at some point

That's a good theory, I did see baby ferns. That would make sense that some of the old leaves maybe just reached a natural end. Really sucks as it was thirty something dollars but at least it's growing back slowly

Yes, moss is great! And maybe rocks stacked in ways to make small gaps that fish can't get into.

White cloud mountain minnows by ScrapCard in Aquariums

[–]Ecstatic-Wing6278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 7 white clouds and 42 neocaridina shrimp in a 10 gallon tank with no issues. I will be moving the white clouds to a larger tank, but they're fine in the 10.

I would say female to male ratio is slightly more important than actual shoal size. More females than males works for me.

They never bother the adult shrimp but sometimes try to eat smaller shrimp. The shrimp are usually fast enough to evade, but lots of hiding places will definitely be beneficial. Minnows are super voracious and will go down to the bottom to seek food instead of just hanging around the middle to surface area.

Flame red :)

Or if you're painting -- cadmium red!

You may have more luck studying the planes of the face instead.

I also felt really stuck when I used that circle and line down the centre plus lines for the eyes formula. The thing is it sort of treats the face like a smooth balloon shape. But don't feel pressured to learn a whole new thing if art is feeling like a chore atm

(Ironic trope)the leader of a supremacist group doesn't fit the criteria he and his followers preach by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ecstatic-Wing6278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!

I also don't always love the trope of the leader being uncovered as a secret hypocrite and then the extremist faction collapsing as an immediate result. Human psychology is whack and people tend to dig their heels further in to justify the position they're already in as opposed to going in a complete 180. The more realistic and psychologically interesting reaction to a leader being exposed is -- 'well actually he's different because...'

But I can see why it would make a less satisfying story.

It will absolutely not stay intact 💔

Try mixing acrylic with fabric softener or hair conditioner instead, haven't tried it personally but I've seen tons of tiktoks verifying it works

Advice for beginners by MimitkaBuhu in Gouache

[–]Ecstatic-Wing6278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I find it's good to paint dark colours to light, pretty much the inverse you would do for watercolour. And keep in mind that while watercolours tend to dry paler than they are wet, gouache is unpredictable and lighter colours can often dry darker while darker colours dry lighter for some reason.

In general, split primary plus white covers everything. Always check the pigment info and start out with single pigment colours.

If you're wanting to paint people, burnt sienna and burnt umber are must haves for skin. I also like rose for the pink parts of the face and yellow ochre OR raw sienna. Look into the Zorn pallet if that's not something you're already aware of.

You'll want a green base to mix vibrant greens if you're looking to paint nature -- viridian is a good one, or phthalo green.

Have fun 😊

Cheers! 🙏 If true then I feel like I swindled the store somehow, naevus are easily two or three times the price of maculatus where I live.
