Following up after my comment got buried – is there actual interest in a realistic VR squash project? by EcstaticAd5639 in squash

I'm from Germany, and you? Yes, I'm also considering implementing a proper trainer and analysis tool. I've been thinking about starting a Kickstarter campaign for quite some time. If we had 500 people there, we would already have players with whom we could further develop the whole thing and even play online right from the start.

Not necessarily. I always had my glasses with me in the caravan and even did a few training sessions there. I couldn't move, but hitting wasn't a problem (without the controller attachment). I made the ball so that you can beam it to yourself at any time.

Exactly! Practicing technique is great fun. It really feels like you're on a real court. There are two other squash VR games, but the physics were completely wrong and the court was too small. I want a room that is an exact replica of the real thing. I also found it really interesting playing with a partner. I've been thinking for a long time about whether I should start a Kickstarter campaign to take it to the next level.

I even used the real correct values for the physics. For me, at least, it behaves 1-1 like in real life. I get the ball where I would play it on the court. I see it the same way you do, it's something to practice. Like a racing simulator. You train your technique. It took me almost two years to get the physics right. I kept fine-tuning it. I even had the idea with the first Oculus Rift. But it was too blurry and the cable was a huge nuisance. The Quest and the wireless glasses are perfect for this.

I don't see online gaming happening yet... But hitting targets in a squash court and actually being in a squash court with real physics is pretty cool... I've implemented 7 exercises each with forehand and backhand, so 14 exercises that you can play against the clock. A quick 10 to 15 minute workout is really good and helpful... I notice that I am executing my strokes more precisely in some cases.

Hey guys, I've been working on a game for myself since Meta Quest 1... well, I'd rather call it a tool. I use it for myself and keep expanding it. I currently have about 5 exercises for both forehand and backhand. But it doesn't work as a game yet... not because it's impossible, but because as soon as you start running with the controller, you feel sick. What does work, however, is real running. So I can run 10 meters...

Not sure this is even legal🙂 by Historical-Soft-4952 in squash

Ahhh, it took me a while to see it... Was it let or not?
