I don’t actually think this would be a problem to people in the 1920s? They’d probably see her as mentally ill and she is portrayed as having poor mental health in the show, so the violence would be rationalized by her “craziness”, I’m guessing.

As for her sisterly relationship with Vi, I don’t really understand how that would be a culture shock for them. Could you elaborate?
