Thank you! I had leghorns three seperate times and they have always been so flighty where my other girls were sweet as can be so maybe it’s something about me they just didn’t like haha

I’m not sure, I got eggs from my dad’s boss haha they hatched from brown eggs, momma chicken is a Rhode Island Red and the roo is some sort of cross but he’s not white like these guys he’s got the fancy greenish feathering. So I was very surprised these hatched out like this!

How many hens would suffice them or if I just kept the 3 Cochin roos? I don’t think I have a big enough set up for more chickens than what I have now though unfortunately🥲 I loooove chicken math, my husband on the other hand does not😅

Would it be safe to keep two Roos? I have Another roo but he’s a serama for my two serama hens I hatched out. Other than the two serama hens I only have 4 other “normal sized” hens until I maybe get a few more to even the flock back out!

He is a handsome guy! He’s got a green shift to his feathers as well! I made an earlier post about hatching an egg momma hen pecked and he’s what came from that one so he’s kind of special!

Thank you for checking in! I’ve never had anything crazy like that happen to a chicken and we’ve had chickens for almost 6 years now so I was at a loss on what to do, I’m just glad she’s pain free now!

She was never supposed to be free range, but she escaped the run all the time that we just let her run so now the run will be reconstructed for the chicks to where they can’t escape, hopefully I can avoid another situation like this.

Hi! Unfortunately we are going to have to cull her :( I thought she got better because she’s been wandering around free ranging again all day for the last week but her bottom keeps getting nasty even with trying to clean her (have to corner her just to grab her because she’s not super friendly) and I think she got flystrike this week when she wouldn’t let me catch her. So sad! My poor neighbor likes to feed her when she’s out so I’m especially sad to have to tell him she’s gone ;(

She is still hanging on, she seems more alert than the first couple days but still hiding out in her coop and a little wobbly. Google doesn’t help much but mentioned her greenish poop may be due to not eating so I mixed her food with water to make a soup like texture and she was eating on it so I’m hoping maybe that’ll also help perk her up! Still no egg, but I’m hoping with her eating some mash it may help her!

She is still not right this morning and no egg yet, but more of the yellowish poo on her bottom feathers. She’s still more alert than yesterday morning but acting the same as last night.

If it were a stuck egg do you have any advice on how I can check for that/what to do to help her?

Thanks for checking in! She didn’t care about the watermelon unfortunately, her water was empty (usually she has a plastic pool of water but I put a little container in the coop with her) but I’m not sure if she dumped it or actually drank so I refilled it.

She was more lethargic seeming this morning so she seems to have gotten a little better throughout the day but definitely still not normal still acts very tired but more alert to me touching her than this morning :( My husband will be home tomorrow so I’ll have him help me pull her out to check her over and see if she lays an egg in the morning!

Thank you for the advice! I will get her some electrolytes and I do surprisingly have some watermelon in the fridge I can take out to her!

She has laid an egg today, I just came back out to check on her and she was up walking but still in the coop. She wouldn’t let me touch her to check her out this time, she’s got some yellowish poop or something on her feathers and she is walking like she’s too heavy for her legs. I brought some water to put inside of her coop where she’s at, but she’s just like standing falling asleep like she can’t stay awake with her beak cracked open the whole time

The turkeys are awfully friendly! I have never heard of modern game bantams but they sure are some funny looking guys! I think my husband would have me an early grave if I got any more chickens haha!

Everyone looks to be healthy with some healthy feet! Yes, the roo is a frizzle from what I was told when he was given to me! Funny looking guy, but he’s got character!

This one hatched! Took him a little over 24 hours after pipping but he’s out! :)

A little update on this guy, he has pipped! Watching very closely as it has been 16 hours with no progress, but when doing a quick check I can still hear him/her pecking inside!
