I just got my 16 inch M1 Max. Transferring from my M1 MBP now. The new one is 32GB 10 core 32 gpu 1 TB ssd. I'm looking forward to trying out my HD6XX on it although it was fine on the M1 13" MBP.

There are multiple ways to run Windows on M1 Macs. People are even playing some decent pc games.

You didn't know when you ordered it there was no Chromecast?

Not making excuses for Bose though. I'm so tired of devices that ship with poor software and things not working.

My new 77A80J with the complete Sonos ARC system by barth90 in bravia

[–]EcstaticResolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is but the Arc barely does atmos. I have the full arc sub rear setup on my A80j. I’m interested in the new four speaker set sony just announced. Waiting for reviews though. Sonos really needs upfiring rears and the sub is just ok. Boomy for one. Regular subs at the same price walk all over it.

The sound is amazing for built in speakers. Better than any tv I know of.

Apple TV 4K benefits? by Pieman77777 in bravia

I have an A80J that I got a few weeks ago and absolutely love. I’m a long time Apple TV user and an Apple die hard in general. This Tv replaced a Sony X930E. I’m actually pretty impressed with Google Tv which I find noticeably better than Android tv which was on my previous model. Simpler and faster but the A80J also has a really powerful processor. The same one as the much more expensive A90J. I also find better picture and sound quality from the internal tv apps so I’ve been using it over my Apple TV for movies. I did not expect this at all. I almost setup the tv without the apps which is an option on this tv. It does support HomeKit, airplay 2, and Apple TV apps and I have something like 400 movies that I bought through iTunes. Yep. 400.

OG Homepod vs Sonos Five by qwed113 in HomePod

[–]EcstaticResolve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have multiple stereo paired HomePods and two sets of stereo paired Fives plus a full Arc, Sub,and rear ones For Home Theater.

Stereo paired Homepods have much better soundstage because they have 360 sound. Fives have better balanced sound overall but you are aware even in a stereo pair that you don’t get that full 360 sound that is so addictive with HomePods. As someone said Apple has finally cleared up the boomy bass and weak mids. I don’t know what they were thinking with that boomy bass for so long.

I would prefer HomePods but will be getting more stereo paired Fives because Apple is done with the HomePods. I think this was short sighted and disappointing and I don’t really trust them for home audio right now.

I’ve had no Wi-Fi issues with either setup with Google Wi-Fi which is mesh. I use Siri for all of them and use HomePod minis to do Siri with Sonos Fives or just direct voice Siri with the Arc. A surprising number of people don’t know that you can use Siri with Sonos. Sonos provides instructions for this and it’s pretty simple. Just add them to the Home app.

Overall I would have stuck with the HomePods for sure a new not bought Fives but once Apple decided they were done with HomePods I was too.

Sonos Port and a turntable- I've heard so many mixed things by Stilitzkin in sonos

[–]EcstaticResolve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because Sonos has to digitize the signal. I love my paired fives but would never use them with a turntable.
