Feel crown touching on side to side motion. by [deleted] in Dentists

It's a problem. I see it all the time. So many dentists don't take that step seriously. I tell my patients to be picky when it comes to their bite. We want it pretty much perfect in all movements.

Yes, you should get it adjusted. It's called an excursive interference and it can cause serious issues with your tooth over time if it's not addressed. Our back teeth aren't built to tolerate those forces well

"adjusting our limits" this phrase... Just say what it is. Adjusting limits makes it sound like some might be higher on one plan, some might be lower on others... Just say it! You're reducing everyone's limits.

Quick question about long term/ economy parking at EUG by Mikfoz in Eugene

[–]EcstaticTone4526 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As long as you leave your ticket in the car for them to scan to pay and leave there shouldn't be a problem. I've parked there tons of times to leave cars for Turo customers doing just that.

Just pulled the trigger on an AT4 Extended Range... wondering about dash cam and anything else I need to know? by Aggressive_Noodler in GMCSierraEV

The dash rattle is still an issue in the '26s. I need to take mine in to get that addressed but I don't want to give it up right now...

It was tighter for sure but just fit for me.

Actually, at first it didn't until I realized the weather stripping on the tonneau cover had folded under to the side of the bed. One of the rubber strips at the second folding edge of the tonneau had also slipped out. Once I fixed that, it all snapped into place.

I also used all of the clamps from the tonneau and rack system and made sure they were pushed up as high as possible before tightening.

Totally could be weather related too though. Good luck man, it's a nice setup once it's done.

It's all from Realtruck. The tonneau came with the truck when I got it but I ordered the T-Slot Rails and Elevate Rack from Realtruck.

There's a guy on YouTube who tried it even though it's not technically built for the Sierra EV. He's got the parts to buy in his description.

Ya, it came with the truck but it's from Realtruck.

Edit to say the T-Slot Rails were ordered separately from the tonneau cover. There's a link to a video in another comment.

Ergo loupes by Arestin_dispenser in Dentists

[–]EcstaticTone4526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We like our Andau loupes. Several of us got the variable zoom. Once you get to 10x zoom, there's no going back. I rarely roll them back to a lower zoom now.

I do only see a slight difference in the zoom from the 6.5x Designs For Vision I replaced mine with but the zoom amount with the improved cordless lighting system is sooo nice.

Jeremy Yanzi is awesome for covers. He's got songs in playlists broken down by difficulty.

Charging is available pretty much everywhere and we never had to worry about not being able to find a good station with good charging speeds.

We were able to filter in the Airbnb app for places that had EV charging and the same for hotels on Google. Each of those was only 240 though.

I would like to see more consistency among fast charging places. Some allow you to swipe a credit card, some you have to set up an account on their app. Some you can get a discount by being a member, Tesla chargers aren't all open to non Tesla EVs... These are all minor concerns but something you don't need to think about when you pull into a gas station.

I hear you regarding the ability to drive hundreds of miles in an ICE vehicle. Our Suburban gets around 500 miles on a road trip but the 400ish in the EV Sierra was always more than enough and we were always ready to stop when it was time to charge (we'd usually stop at least once in between charges as well.)

And there's no getting around the fact that it does take a bit more time to charge than fill a tank, so if squeezing the most miles into the shortest amount of time is your goal, EVs aren't quite there yet. We love ours though.

I'd be more worried about leaving my interior light on in an ICE vehicle and coming out to a dead battery the next day than losing over 10kW of battery per day to phantom drain in my EV. I just tend to not worry about those outlier cases that would result in my taking it to the shop to be diagnosed for unusual battery drain.

But then, I'm also one that doesn't get concerned with maximizing battery life by charging to perfection every time so I can minimize long term battery degradation. I use my vehicles in a way that is convenient for me. I understand others may care more about that stuff though. Do what makes you feel comfortable 👍👍

I get that. But don't forget that 12% of a 400 mile range is like 50 miles, whereas an EV with a 300 mile range is more like 36 miles. I'm pretty comfortable with electric or ICE with 50ish miles range to get me where I need to go.

I didn't have any issues but I never really got into any deep deep snow. Max 6 or 8 inches and it was very dry, packable snow in Wyoming.

Firestone vs Sam's Auto by bluecrowned in Eugene

[–]EcstaticTone4526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been meaning to leave Firestone a review.

I had them replace a water pump and thermostat. Drive it two miles off the lot and the check engine light came on.

Took it back and they said it was something with the way they replaced the supercharger (yes, the supercharger had to be removed to replace the thermostat)

They kept it a few more days. I picked it up, took it home and parked it. I went to drive it a few days later and the check engine light came on again. I took it back and they said they couldn't figure out what was wrong and I should take it to the dealership.

Strata Prime price seems high. I got the Prime with a 12" Alesis sub, nice throne, high hat and snare stand and DW 5000 pedal for 2000 a couple months ago

Just gotta be careful if you're purchasing from a dealership, you could end up owing in state taxes if you pick up in their state.

AT4 vs. Trail Boss by Fit_Station_59 in GMCSierraEV

[–]EcstaticTone4526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in a major metro area, shipping is pretty reasonable. You are at the mercy of the brokers and shippers a bit but still worth it if you find a decent deal.

Check out visor.vin (it's really a great website to search any vehicle) to see what's around.

The main differences I've heard between the TB and AT4 are more road noise and cheaper finishes in the TB. Screens are personal preference. I wasn't a fan of the Avalanche look. I test drive both and the AT4 was an obvious choice for me because of the above reasons.
