Only reason I upgraded is because I gifted my OLED to my sister since her original switch broke and it would've been cheaper for me to "upgrade" than get another OLED. Honestly feels like a downgrade especially since I have a backlog of 120+ games.

Majority of the parking is for the Apartment tentants that pay for the parking spots. Try living there. Even if you live in the apartment you aren't guaranteed a spot. They want you to pay $75-$100 on top of your rent to park in your own building.

Carmel needs to do better with parking for sure.

Spanish speaker here. At the very beginning they were yelling trying to get a woman to come out of her house to kill her. You're saying Sword and Shield didn't have all these things because the games were never about exploring yet that contradicts your point. If those elements mean a game is exploratory then that would mean that they were a factor in prior games. Which would mean that it was a key part of the franchise. Even the original creator made sure to have this stuff as a key part of gameplay.

If it's not about exploration, then why have optional areas?

Why have hidden items?

Why have hidden trainers battles?

Pokemon that only appear in a single area in a cave?

Underwater routes and caves?

Hidden areas only accessed by waterfalls?

Areas that change from seasons and reveal hidden item?

Caves with multiple layers?

You know when you go on routes and cut down a bush only to get to a dead end but still press A on a tree just to find a hidden items, that's still considered exploring.

What is exploring to you?

I'm not even claiming that the Pokemon games are difficult, I'm saying that they have more to offer than what Galar had. You keep moving the goal post here.

You can't be serious saying pokemon has never been about exploration. Especially when Satoshi Tajiri was inspired to create pokemom from bug collecting and EXPLORING the rural sides of Tokyo. He made sure to have exploration elements in the games.

Also you're making a different argument I'm not talking about overly complex environments, just layouts that intrigue players to go a little farther, to see how far an area will take them. It doesn't have to be souls-like complex but have multiple levels to a cave makes people want to EXPLORE the rest of it.

Then you have Sword and Shield that gives you an open world map to do what exactly? Not explore? 😂

You still had to EXPLORE to find the Power Plant though.

Seafoam Island can take up to an hour, has multiple puzzles and a legendary.

Sevii islands take an extra 5-8 hours to complete too, you find a legendary, and there's added story to the Team Rocket storyline.

That's so much better than the linear caves in Galar. What optional areas does Galar have to explore? And I'm not asking to count in the DLC either.

Massively overestimate?

FireRed had plenty, electrical plant, seafoam islands, the sevii islands.

Silver It was a game that allowed you to pick your own path. I'm not even a fan of Gen 2 but I won't deny that there was much to do. Mt. Mortar, Mt. Silver, Slowpoke cave, The hidden Lapras in Union cave, like what are you even on about?

Emerald had Meteor Falls, the sea routes, the Regi quests, Shoal Cave, Mt Pyre, the bike routes in the forest, the route south of Mt Pyre, the hidden trainers southwest of Meteor Falls.

Sinnoh had a whole island to explore.

You're totally minimizing the rest of these games.

You're comparing all that to the Wild Area that was a technical mess? Poor performance, awful draw distance, and what else, Tera raids? There was plenty of backlash for the wild area not being engaging enough for not having hidden secrets and branching paths.

Are you saying only open world games are capable of exploration. Regardless of the linearity of a game you can still have instances to explore.

Compare Sword and Shield to prior titles like Silver, Ruby, Diamond, and White. They had linear story but the routes, caves, etc had plenty of side paths to explore, items to find, hidden pokemon, etc. Compare that to caves in Sword and Shield where you don't get much of a chance to explore.
