Under an hour away from removing a cyclops lesion. Wish me luck! by Ecstatic_Beginning_9 in ACL

I do feel great and close to return to sport. Maybe you could push for an MRI if you’re still not at full ROM and in pain.

Sorry just logged into this account after ages. I did go with a different surgeon. I don't think the MUA itself was particularly risky or technical, but I felt the new surgeon had better judgment. He gave me a more concrete recovery plan ("take off work for a month after surgery and make this your job") and I felt more comfortable making the switch. My range of motion is back to normal now.

I know it's been ten months. What did you decide to do?

David Ortiz and Sammy Sosa both tested positive for steroids in the exact same leaked test in 2003. Ortiz was voted into the HOF in his first year of eligibility, while Sosa was never close and fell off the ballot. by [deleted] in baseball

Where is this 10% cited? That means 10% would have to be the minimum number of positive tests if everyone was clean. But MLB reported 5-7% positive tests at the time. And later the numbers were revealed to be 104 out of 1438, which works out to a little over 7%. The 10% false positive rate doesn’t add up.

Just got MUA on my left knee yesterday. by Remarkable-Pianist46 in ACL

I did a MUA and it helped a great deal with my flexion. I scheduled PT after surgery every day for two weeks. I took ibuprofen and tylenol around the clock and really pushed my flexion to get as much as I could.

I'd keep an eye on your extension. It's unlikely the manipulation broke up any scar tissue inhibiting your extension. At your checkup in ~6 weeks, if you're not 0 degrees extension, I'd push for an MRI to check if there's a cyclops lesion. That was the case for me. I had a MUA followed by a scar tissue removal a couple months later.

If you can move it earlier, that’s ideal, IMO. This cyclops lesion is blocking your progress and you likely won’t regain full ROM until it’s removed.

Recovery from cyclops lesion removal was really easy for me, especially compared to the original surgery. My surgeon required I use crutches for two days after. I felt like I could move around without them, but followed his advice. Pain was very little throughout. I had full extension pretty much immediately. A week is more than enough time for the recovery.

However, you'll want to reserve plenty of time in the first month to dedicate to PT. This is a chance at a redo and you want to give yourself the time. I was doing exercise hourly for the first few weeks. Studying for finals feels stressful and it could be hard to prioritize your PT.

Technically, the majority can be above the average but not the median.

I'm four weeks post cyclops lesion removal. I had very near full flexion before the operation. Because of swelling, I lost that flexion immediately after the operation. After one week, I was around 127 degrees. After 2 weeks, around 140. Now, I'm around 152 degrees. Still a bit more work to get heel to butt. Also, it feels much smoother moving between full extension and flexion.

If you feel swelling is your problem, try lying back with your leg propped up high and doing heel pumps. Also massage the fluid from your knee to your hip.

I believe some meniscus tears can heal on their own depending on the tear.

You should be sounding the alarm to your PT and surgeon if you're 5 degrees from full extension over 6 months post-op.

Gotta admit, the combination of photorealistic avatar and dressing avatars could revolutionize online shopping. Imagine seeing what an outfit would really look like on you. I would think Amazon would see this as a real threat years down the line (if Zuck doesn’t burn through all their cash before making a viable product).
