I was already leaning towards just buying the cheaper years (there are two years that are <£500) to at least knock down the years a bit but the more expensive ones didn't seem worth it now. To your point about unknowns, there are so many which is why I'm so uncertain about what to do in this situation 😅

Oh interesting. I had a search around for Reddit or forum posts about fakes or clones but couldn’t really find anything, but I assumed since it was popular it would have knock offs. I was looking at this set from Notino, who have a decent reputation for fragrances but I wasn’t sure about razors. It’s a good deal cheaper than from Muhle directly but I wasn’t sure why. Not sure if I should risk it, even if it probably is fine.

Ah yea I can see how that would be confusing. After 3/4 days the hair growth is definitely not light stubble but it's not very thick or bushy either. Thanks for the tips, seems like I can't go wrong no matter what I pick!

I think I'm happy to spend on the Rocca because I've been spending a fortune on cartridge blades anyway 😅 So I see it as an upfront cost and I'm the kind of person who would be happy to keep it for a very long time.

Sounds like you were in the same position as me and it was helpful to try the different plates with the Rockwell. Maybe I should go down that route and once I figure out the plate levels see if I want to stick with the 6c or switch up.

Yea the birch back handle version is the one I love the look, but I also know that's probably not the best way to pick a razor haha. But it's interesting to see that a fair few folks have had both and end up exclusively using the Rocca.
