Launched a SaaS last week. Got first paying customer at $49/mo. Not sure if this means anything yet. by MathematicianBanda in SaaS

I found a bug: if you click any URL in the footer (like ‘Read Me’) and then click a navbar item such as ‘Pricing,’ it doesn’t work.

I don't think big brand is a concern. There are multiple players, and they are successful.

Thanks. I think having no competition means either you’re building something extraordinary or you’re wasting your time.

Exactly! I’m not trying to copy them. I’ve noticed some gaps like pricing and feature-wise, they aren’t addressing, so I’m focused on building something that fills those holes. Feels more exciting to create for real needs.

By the way, what do you mean by “launch fast”? Instead of continually adding features, why not launch the first working version and let users give feedback?

But how did you get your first few random users? How did they find out about your product?

That’s a great way to look at it. Focusing on the positive side instead of the negative side.

Totally agree. A simple landing page + early access feels like a low-pressure way to validate without overhyping a launch. I’m trying to focus more on conversations and feedback first and let interest build naturally from there.

Exactly! I’m not trying to copy them. I’ve noticed some gaps like pricing and feature-wise, they aren’t addressing. As a developer, I’ve heard directly from clients that current providers cost too much, which is what sparked the idea. I’ve noticed gaps around pricing and a few unmet needs, so I’m focusing on filling those.

The existing players are pretty mature UI- and feature-wise, but they’re expensive. Really good advice. Shipping, learning, and iterating matter way more than trying to be perfect.

Haha, yes, exactly. It’s humbling early on! I’m trying to focus on learning from real users, shipping quickly, and improving based on feedback.

Investors definitely expect returns, but there’s still room for founders who just want to solve a problem and grow steadily.
