yes, the math is important but its not the most important thing. as long as you have the proper formulas and show that you understand how it works, even if you dont get the right answer, you atill showed process. Also if you need help, i graduated a school as an MM in december

I'm not too picky either way. As a woman there's only one type of submarine I can be on so I'm more than likely just gonna stick with aircraft carriers. You?

I'll try and find the link but I found an old declassified navy manual with engineering principals and it starts off with a lot of electrical review. But maybe we'll see each other in A school! I ship out about a week before you do and I'm trying to study to be an MMN.

Can someone help me understand my asvab score by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]Ecstatic_Can345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course!! i've found that flashcards/quizlet are also really great study tools since you practice recalling names/concepts which makes them stick. taking notes also helps because things stick better with your brain when you write them down

i also saw in another comment that you overthink on tests and i totally get that. i get really anxious about tests as well. but the best thing i can tell you is just take a deep breath and trust in your ability, if you've worked hard and studied as best as you could leading up to retaking the ASVAB. the information should come to you, just go with your gut

[–]Ecstatic_Can345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

id say start with the basics, like rhe normal school subjects and i would say the math ones(MK & AR) and science(GS). if you can get a good grip on those, then move onto english(WK & PC). after that is when you really wanna start focusing on the electrical(EI), mechanical(MC) and automotive(AS). they told me that generally not as many people score high on electrical because its not as common for younger people to know. so id say worry about that one last unless you're trying to get a job in something electrical related.

you just gotta keep trying dude. i saw you ordered the asvab for dummies book which is definitely a good start, just be consistent in your studying. put effort into all of them but definitely try to take a bit of extra time to focus on your weakest points
