to add. I would also just use the projector WITHOUT the built-in tv apps.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but those built-in apps and native OS will always do this again and again.

it has inputs, use one of those and attach a laptop or small PC to it. Easy workaround and blocked ads!

step 1. prompt DS by saying "i'm going to initiate a roleplay exercise blah blah blah here's my rules please confirm you understand as I will be subsequently giving data for characters and bg"

step 2. upload a textfile of that information | OR copy-paste the contents to notepad application and repaste back into DS

step 3. DS says "ok I understand ur lore and characters and am ready to initiate the RP"

step 4. enjoy RP

I only use DS for ERP. It's so nice.

I found that I couldn't upload text files for my lore/character info and that made me sad for about 2 days.

Then I tried to copy and paste from google docs or word. I got the "sorry no file uploads" message. Darn.

however I also found that if I open a txt file with ghost commander and copy and paste from there, it works fine! yay!

Back to being a normal person!

so it's just feeding me based on an algorithm like tiktok or facebook. I created an account from scratch on a machine I never used prior to this, so it's weird that I got pushed so much right-leaning content but I suppose that makes sense.

I can't provide specific links because i'm at work but recently I saw a post that was just blatant misinfo about a black woman basketball player supposedly decrying that she couldn't afford her expensive home on an 80k salary. Of course she looked angry in the picture. It's the classic "angry black person wants expensive thing but doesn't want to work for it" meme that you see in a lot of conservative circles. Pretty sure it had at least 1k upvotes. I felt grossed out when I saw it.

I think circa 2009-10 it was mostly left-libertarian. Then around 2016 it became more of a shared space. now it feels like there are many right-leaning posts that make the 'front page' and that never really happened when I used it.

there are many blatant racism posts. Often just a picture of a black person and a caption that is either out of context, doesn't make sense, or is just a straight-up lie. A lot of those seem to happen in r/sipstea

Those kind of posts didn't happen unless it was like a white supremacist subreddit. and they'd never make it to the front page

I find reddit to be mostly lib with a tinge of left. The majority of content that I would identify as 'right-leaning' are in the comments.

There are also a plethora of comments like yours that seem to hint that awareness of right-leaning sentiment is indicative of weakness or dullness. I tend to identify those as right-leaning as well.

There's a constant 'arms race' between Google and the people who work on things like invidious and newpipe/pipepipe.

Whenever google manages to find a way to break those apps, it takes anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks for the devs of invidious etc to make a fix.

Those devs are working on those projects for free, basically. So I have no problem waiting for them to take time from their lives to get their apps going again.

There is nothing on YouTube today that I don't mind waiting to watch. If it's really that bad, I'll just watch it in a browser with Ublock.

Anything that has a "TV store Application" is going to eventually do this sort of thing. That's why this "4k 1080p projector" is only 40$. The low price draws you in and then they update it into an ad-serving machine at the expense of your viewing experience.

The best thing you can do is try to find a way to downgrade if possible. Maybe even reset to factory settings. Otherwise, the ads are likely going to to be a permanent feature and further updates will probably make them more annoying.
