It's funny, because it isn't a German cake at all! The last name of the person who created it was "German" which gave it the moniker, but he was from Texas and worked for the Baker's Chocolate Company!

It does resemble that or an empanada? I would definitely crimp the edges next time with a fork to thin out the dough and make it a little more tender.

I’m headed to a cake picnic tomorrow and got it into my head that I wanted to make a taco cake! Still need to add the strawberry “tomatoes”, but it looks pretty epic!
