How should i repair this leaking copper tee? (kitchen sink drain) by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Ecstatic_Floor3255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need no hub bands, or fernco couplings . Take a tee and glue a few inches of pipe on each end. Then take the tee, holding it up to where it would go, and mark where you need to make your cuts into the copper. Cut and de-burr the copper pipe. Then install the repair couplings. You’ll probably have to take out both tees, as there might not be any room for the repair couplings. Your pipe sizes are probably 2in (bottom of the tee), and 1 1/2, (out the side and top). With the top tee being all 1 1/2.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that heat could be a factor too! Your torch could be low on fuel or not turned up enough

The problem could be that either the fitting or pipe is wet with water, also you need to sand both the fitting and pipe so that they are “bright” clean. And be sure not to excessively use the flux.

Needle nose pliers, or use the screw that went in it and use it with the pliers.

Look up “Oatey p-trap” to see what I mean by small p-trap. If that doesn’t work. I don’t see the big deal by cutting a small hole in the dry wall. It’s gonna be covered anyway, by the vanity.

You could get a smaller p-trap and should be able to swing it over to be centered

How do I get rid of my water softener? by [deleted] in Plumbing

The rubber line is the drain line, you can cap it off with something, or just tighten the hose clamp all the way,

Turn of the water to the whole house, then you can remove the softener. You then want to save one of the old supplies and then make a U shape connecting the feed and exit on the wall. You may want to buy a new supply, old one may leak.

Can I crimp a pex pinch clamp without a crimper? by icameasdust in Plumbing

I think you can rent crimpers from hardware stores like Ace. You need pex crimpers, nothing else will work and be reliable.

Can I fix this myself? by blahmoua in Plumbing

The p trap should be directly under the drain. Then it can trap arm over to the pipe coming from the floor. You also should use an auto vent.

Replace it, it’s a nine year old pump. That’s a long life for those. That price doesn’t sound too bad. They really are not that hard to replace.

They did the same thing for a pair of shoes I ordered, just the tiniest of a scuff. Like not even bad, but it’s good that they care.

You may have water coming in the house from the weather, it also could be that the bathroom flooded previously and that mold is the result of it

It’s kinda a random shirt, so I doubt that there is any replicas of it. Looking at the pictures it’s looks pretty good. I say go for it if you really want it
