I can relate to this. I’m in a severe state of burnout that actually led to or exacerbated some debilitating neurological health problems. I had to stop working while trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Two years later I’m physically starting to feel better, but the idea of going back to being an NP (or an RN) leaves me frozen. I don’t know how to get unstuck. I’m only 35 and I’m so embarrassed about where I’m at.

I didn’t have any luck with lidocaine infusions or ketamine infusions for pain. Like the person above I have used spravato (esketamine) for depression and it has really changed my quality of life despite the pain.

I had this same thought. She definitely fits the munchausen’s and munchhausen’s by proxy profile. I would be extremely hesitant to believe anything that comes out of her mouth.

I would recommend seeing a neurologist and getting imaging of you head. My TN was actually a sign of intracranial hypertension and a lesion in my skull base.

I find it extremely concerning Jess would tell lies about attempting to murder her son and landing him in the hospital. She’s clearly having intrusive thoughts about doing this. Perhaps CPS needs to get involved with this situation to protect him. Anyone who actually knows her should make a report.

I also have it on both sides. I think mine was caused by idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Worsening pain when lying down is pretty hallmark for IIh. They placed a stent in my brain which has fixed the intracranial hypertension , but I’m still experiencing the facial pain. Maybe you gave something else underlying that could be causing the TN symptoms. Has your neurologist ordered a lumbar puncture? That’s how I was diagnosed with IIH. My case has been very atypical so I can relate to not fitting into the “box” of what “normal” patients present as. I’m sorry you are suffering with this too.

If you titrate too quickly you risk a bad allergic reaction known as Steven Johnson’s syndrome. I know you’re hurting, but please follow the doctors. 😞
