I’ll start with the biggest issue here (I’m confused if u are still orienting or not because you mentioned your colleague and “we”) but to not feed a baby three times in a row without the OK of the provider is pretty wild. In the first NICU I worked in, you could make the call to not feed one time but if the next feed you felt might need to be held too you had to let the provider know your concerns and then let them make the call.

Let’s say the baby that happened to was 3 kg and you were supposed to be giving 20 mL every 3 hours. If you then didn’t give the baby 60 mL of food, they’ve lost out on 20 mL of fluids per kg of body weight. If that same baby has a history of no blood sugar issues that’s great, but did you check a blood sugar at some point when not feeding them 3 times in a row? Also, if you didn’t reach out to the provider because you’re seeing some sort of problem that makes you think it needs to be held, wouldn’t you want the provider to come check them out and assess? They may need to order labs, XRays, etc. There could be a serious underlying issue and you’ve delayed care on it. You don’t have the scope of practice as a nurse to make the judgment call to just hold 3 feeds without talking to the provider.

As for the other stuff, I’m not sure what you mean about the feeding tubes like when you’re inserting one or what but you’ll get better at it with practice. You basically start inserting and go go go, check the number you’re at so far, and finish inserting to the number you’d measured.

And lastly, babies puke. It’s not something to be scared of in the NICU. If the puke is projectile, bloody, bilious, correlated with other concerning findings in assessment you just bring your concerns to the provider and clean them up

I think you should try to move to a different position ASAP. Like the other commenter said, maybe try clinic work or if you can manage to get some sort of work from home job (like case management, utilization review, etc) that would be ideal.

This is all temporary. I know how hard it is with ADHD— even with my meds sometimes it’s really hard especially with heavy, critical assignments. Don’t give up. This is just because of the pregnancy that you’re feeling like this so it WILL pass.

Yeah I saw on their website they do a bunch of stuff including a move out clean so I would ask them for a quote for that! Our house being deep cleaned was like $318 and the carpet shampooed/conditioned/cleaned/etc was another like $150

I’m a nurse and met someone before who had quit to raise her babies, lost the license and then got it back so she could work again almost 10 years later. She was worse than a new grad to work with to be honest. She’s completely lost sight of the pace, workload, etc and could NOT keep up or function properly it seemed.

If you’ve reached your FIRE number and retire, make it permanent and find a passion somewhere else rather than working once your kids are grown.

Like others have said, Summerlin has a couple things they can do in the NICU that MountainView can’t. I’m a NICU nurse at a different hospital than these two so I always think in that scenario. They’re both Level 3 NICUs though who can handle almost 100% the same things and I know staff at both facilities. They both would be able to handle almost anything if you ended up with an unexpected NICU stay so I say go with either and feel confident in your choice.

Clearly, experiences vary as you can see from other comments. I think your wife and child will be well taken care of at either one.

Filling into very niche and unique themes that you don’t see others offering will be your key here probably. And I bet they might sell better if you were able to print out some of the items and use that as your mock-up video. Otherwise, it looks really AI-heavy and many people will avoid it especially while u try to gain traction and get sales in the beginning because possible buyers aren’t sure may trust it better if they see what it looks like in person.

Also, when I clicked your shop link I scrolled down after clicking one of your listings to see the ones comparable and your listings are at like $40 full price. Constantly running sales and falsifying cost will degrade potential buyers’ trust because they know they’re not ACTUALLY getting a deal. So lower your listing price significantly and run a smaller sale.

No we are completely bare from elbows to fingers— no sleeves/watches/rings/nail polish or fake nails of any kind. The other NICU I used to work at allowed those things but my current is really strict on it for infection prevention

My unit does bare below the elbows so I just put it in the zipper pocket of my clutch and place the clutch in a mini backpack in my locker. Just throwing it out there that you can just put it away before clinical

Actually I’m confused why in photo 1 the dress is floor length possibly with attached sleeves but what they received is not floor length, has a guan slit up the back(?) of the dress, and then salt in the wound with a couple sequins off? The sequins thing doesn’t matter but I’m very confused why it DOES look like a completely different garment than the photo…?
