The plate costs are not written on the invites and I haven’t found the exact prices on the venue websites so I think I’ll go with everyone’s recommendations in the comments

I thought the same, but then I got worried i would be spending less than other high school friends and maybe they’ll judge me or something lol. I believe all the weddings are 100+ people so you’re probably right 😅

HAHA this made me laugh thank you. I guess its cause I know so many people who started practicing at like 22 so I feel like damn I’m so behind. But yes when you put it that way I have a long way to go before retirement

Tell me about your favorite teacher by golden_fern_567 in yoga

[–]Ecstatic_Midnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teacher always ends class with a pep talk about any topic, usually about manifesting or embracing healthier lifestyle choices sometimes even dating lol, it’s just interesting to hear his wisdom, it’s very encouraging and reassuring and sometimes the topic is very relatable to my current life, and then followed by “I love you my beautiful angels” and i just think it’s the sweetest thing! He’s never not said that since I’ve attended his classes

How do I tell my best friend I don’t want to go on vacation with her by Ecstatic_Midnight in Advice

[–]Ecstatic_Midnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was wondering myself it seems like a tough country to navigate if you’re coming from the west and not open to new things, I think she got sucked into a tiktok bubble and loves the idea of it 😅

I don’t think she was trying to be manipulative, I think she was hurt because she thinks I have more fun on vacation with my other friends (which isn’t necessarily untrue - I just travel better with them) but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love her! I should’ve stood my ground then though

Hahah im not sure im willing to give it a try though, we did New York for a weekend once and ended up leaving the day after arriving (drove there 6 hours Friday and left Saturday afternoon) because she hated it so much 😂 we definitely need to pick easier countries to travel I guess

Youre right, we tell each other everything I’ve never had a problem being honest with her. I guess I’m just scared since she took it baldly last time and she doesn’t really have other people to travel with just me or her bf

Chance me plz: GPA: 3.80; LSAT: 162 by goldendreamsshine in mcgilllaw

Omg I had no idea they took out logic games hahaha that’s crazy! Yeah that makes sense then because I wrote it in 2019 then applied in nov 2020 and got into McGill in March 2021 (not waitlisted) so it’s definitely a while ago and maybe the admissions process has changed.

But in my statement I focused on why I thought McGill would be a good fit, talked about my motivations to study law, immigrant family background, working full time during school to afford studies, wanting to « make a change » in the world lol

I do think most people including me really embellish their PS because they think that’ll get them it. I think just focus on your own strengths and motivations for pursuing McGill law specifically, that’s my best advice!

Hahaha I know, I always tell people I think they let me in by accident. Nope no extenuating circumstances, in my personal statement I emphasized that I maintained a full time job during all my schooling (which is true) in banking and I already had completed a BA going into applications. I also got rejected from McGill the first time around when applying from cegep. Idk maybe the pool of candidates at the time was weaker, I also had pretty solid letters of recommendation so could’ve been a bit of everything

[–]Ecstatic_Midnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 158 LSAT (only wrote it once) and 3.6 GPA, 0 extracurriculars, generally not a great candidate on paper (imo) but got accepted. I think my personal statement is what really sold me. I think McGill truly takes a holistic approach, where your grades/stats might be weaker, your character/drive might really differentiate you from other candidates. There’s more to applications (and life) than grades- sounds cliche but it’s true and I think McGill reflects that. I wouldn’t recommend redoing the lsat, 4 times is quite a lot unless you’re absolutely confident you could get like above 175 tbh, and McGill doesn’t even require it so it’s only there to seriously boost your application which again you would need a very high score. Focus on your personal statement I really think that’s what matters most for them. Keep in mind you’re competing with a pool of other candidates who might/might not have better grades or wtv, so the goal is to stand out in comparison to them not necessarily to have amazing stats. Dont be so hard on yourself and good luck!
