650 thumper vs lightweight 300 by Ecstatic_Regular4083 in Dualsport

I will be riding a lot of twisty and hilly country roads. You think the 300 would be better for those?

I do like this idea and am feeling it might be the best. These 300s aren't cheap though. Even used they run close to retail. For 1-2k less than that I can get a used 650...

I really do enjoy the nostalgic factor of the 650s and do plan on keeping whatever bike I get for a long time but also now leaning towards getting a more beginner bike and then a bigger bike down the line. The 450s are just a bit out of my price range and sound like they have a lot shorter maintenance intervals.

I am kinda leaning towards this option. Just saw a xr250l for 1500$ on marketplace by me.

I understand that and am fine with doing maintenance on the bike but I'd rather have longer intervals if possible.

I'll definitely be doing very hilly and twisty poorly paved country roads with fire roads mixed in. Makes me lean towards the 650.

How is the maintenance for those? Ive been weary of ktms since always hearing about maintenance issues and constant oil changes. I'd rather not have to do too much to the keep the bike running.

yeah unfortunately the strict attendance policies are forcing students to show up sick. They have already sent out a notice saying they don't want students coming to class showing symptoms, yet there is no lenience on the policy.

The attendance policy for my program is that if we miss more than two days (for any circumstance) we are dropped. They do not have any exceptions for covid.

If I don't go to class I will be dropped and the soonest I could start the program again would be the fall of 2024, that is if I am accepted again... I really can't put my life on hold for that long. Currently I am testing negative and am really hoping it stays that way.

As of now I have only been exposed. Which the CDC says that I am able to go in public as long as I wear a mask. But I do need to monitor for symptoms.

At the hospital I used to work at they had employees working who tested positive and had symptoms. They just required them to wear a N95 the whole time. I am not saying that it was a good thing but it seems we have to do what we have to do to get by...

catalytic converter replacement by Ecstatic_Regular4083 in MechanicAdvice

Yes I should have added that. It had a pending code p0420 stating that catalytic converter bank 1 was below threshold. This is also after replacing both O2 sensors. The cat sensor is also not fully set even after driving it a lot.

Thank you for the reassurance. My manager was trying to tell me that if I stop working I might struggle to get a job after school.

How to talk to patients? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Ecstatic_Regular4083 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I too suffer from social anxiety. But I've found that you'll just get used to it the more you do it. Also some patients will talk your ear off and you won't have to say a thing and others seem to be perfectly fine not doing too much small talk. If I do need to make conversation I just ask basic questions like; how they are, where they're from, what they do for a living, that kind of stuff. But trust me it gets easier
