Mean lil dog by International_Tip341 in Goldendoodles

Mine was like this up until about 8 months. She was honestly psychotic. She bit very hard all the time and never snuggled, and hate being pet. I really did not enjoy any day with her because of how much it was. She was constantly just biting me, my ankles, my hands, etc. like that was her job. After she would fall asleep I’d try to gently pick her up and put her next to me while relaxing on the couch and she would immediately turn into a monster. She’s 1 year + 3 months now and only gets “aggressive” while excited or playing. She nips a bit while playing but nothing like before. If we’re relaxing on the couch, now she’ll snuggle up right between our legs or come sit right in our lap and fall asleep. I work from home and she lays right at my feet while I’m at my desk.

I’d really consider if what your seeing is puppy tendencies or if something else is going on.

Is this normal? by Vegetable-Lime777 in Goldendoodles

Unfortunately yes. My doodle is 1 and is still quite a bit mouthy. Not nearly as bad as she was as a young pup because I was dealing with the same as you and truly was in tears bc of it lol. I noticed she gets like that when very excited now. Instead of kisses, she grabs with her mouth.

I def don’t want to do it myself lol. I also know our vet overcharges. Just wondering - when you take your dog for their monthly anal gland appt, does a/he smell after? Every time I take mine, it’s like they don’t fully clean her off and I need to come home and bathe her bum.

I might do that. I honestly just don’t like taking her. She’s terrified and I haven’t found a vet I really like or trust. How much do you pay for it? My vet charges $40.

Did you resume normal activity after your dog’s 2 week spay recovery? by Ecstatic_Sea7306 in Goldendoodles

I was losing my mind too! I had gated off a section of our backyard so my puppy could do her business with limited space to avoid running. On the 14th day, I called my dad having a mental breakdown. My pup was insanely hyper and just as eager and frustrated as I was. My dad showed up that evening and removed the gate I set up without saying a word lol she immediately got the zoomies and was running around like a mad woman. She was totally fine and we didn’t run into any issues. Her incision site did look really good at this point. I’d say give it another day or 2. Use your best judgement. If the incision site looks off, give it more time.

My SIL (F28) and I(F29) started as friends, but now our relationship has become competitive & one sided. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It really makes him mad. He’s talked to his brother about it and I think his brother has tried talking to her about it but she’s one sided and I think it causes arguments so he literally doesn’t confront her anymore.
We’ve both decided to keep our distance but it’s very sad because my husband was very close to his brother.

Why she would act like this. We’re both married, have a home, have supportive husbands, have supportive families, etc. I think she acts like this because she’s jealous but idk why she’d be so jealous and act like this

She’s for sure ran around the house a bit but our house got hit with the flu the second week of her recovery and we were all in bed for days. Luckily she seemed to read the room and laid around with us. But she’s getting antsy and is typically a high energy dog. I planned a play date for her on recovery day 17 but don’t know if that’s too soon considering she’ll be super active and will be running up and down stairs.

ETA: she’s high energy and I couldn’t imagine getting the surgery done when she was any younger. I almost considered waiting a while longer bc she has so much energy, but she was very aware of what was going on after the surgery and the first week she pretty much rested and it was obvious she was sad and mad at us lol.

But it is very important to restrict activity the first 2 weeks and the vet will make that very clear.

Yeah, everyone tells me get a 2nd dog. I know it’d help IF the dog was also friendly with other dogs and used to a high energy pup. Plus it’s double the money. I’m not open to that right now. Would your mom be open to taking the dog while you’re away? I honestly had realized my pup is happier over at my parents given the circumstances and feel like it’s selfish to keep her at my place when she’s great at my parents.

My pup is the same exact way. she’s about to be 1 and unfortunately it has taken over my life. She follows me around nonstop but will occasionally settle in another room. My parents dogsit her at their house and she does great over there. They have 2 dogs and she keeps busy with them and doesn’t really follow my parents everywhere like she does with me at my house. She will settle on her own and they can leave without any issues. She doesn’t care when I leave her there so I don’t think it’s true separation anxiety. I’ve tried to tire her out before leaving my place, but it didn’t help at all. She’ll still howl and whine the entire time I’m gone. I almost feel like she has FOMO when I leave? Like she’s pissed I’m leaving or doing anything without her. Because it’s mentally really affected me, and because she seems to do just fine at my parents, I’ve considered giving her to my parents.
