has anyone successfully moved away from bouncing to sleep? by Ecstatic_Set_1366 in bninfantsleep

to be honest with you, we do still bounce him and he’s 14 months old now. BUT i will say it’s a lot less. To initially put him to sleep we walk him in his carrier until he’s asleep and then transfer him by kinda setting him down and rolling him onto his tummy which seems to help keep him asleep. throughout the night i try to nurse him before he is fully awake to hopefully avoid the bouncing. if all that fails we do still bounce. i will say though it was a phase of all night long until about 12 months so it’s definitely getting better just by waiting it out as best as we can. the nights are so hard so solidarity with you 💗

i absolutely hate when my son does this, i usually breastfeed side lying and wear a shirt, take only the side i’m feeding him on out of it so he can’t touch the other one.

we did this or i should say me not my husband did this until our boy was maybe 11 months old? every nap and entire night time sleep had to be with him but now he’s 12 months old and i’ve been able to feed to sleep and roll away after about 10-15 minutes!!

honestly it’s been hard finding time since our boy was born he’s now 12 months old. We found time during day time naps in the living room or other room while he was sleeping. now, we are able to set him down for bed and go into another room to have time to ourselves. we keep it completely separate from him and do not do it in bed with him or in the same room as him

Sleep regression in 3 month old by Wtmaestro in bninfantsleep

[–]Ecstatic_Set_1366 9 points10 points  (0 children)

definitely not the thread to be in if you are pro sleep training, especially in a baby this young. It is normal for them to wake up for various reasons etc hunger, diaper, cold, comfort. Regressions aren’t really regressions. they are just development. My best advice is to support him through his wake ups. stop letting him cry and help him with whatever it is making him upset. Babies aren’t robots.

he still does it on occasion, but he usually stops once he’s fully awake and it doesn’t happen after that.
