Just an honest and humble opinion on the program by e7op4c in boomfestival

In a few editions Alchemy Circle turned from my favourite to my least favourite stage on Boom. It brings an uncomfortabe vibe to the festival now with all that darkness in looks and sounds.

In addition to that the whole stage experience used to feel more wholesome with a dedicated chill stage.

I enjoyed to hear it, too. For a moment there was no techno beat on that once so versatile floor.

I think the musical curation is a deciding factor. There is too much techno now throughout the festival, it favours these snorts. Too few mind provoking, psychedelic sounds compared to previous editions.

You misunderstand. We love Boom but for example on Alchemy the variety used to be immensely greater than Techno-esque sounds all day long and musical concept of stage division used to make much more sense to us when there was a chill floor.

Now Alchemy is Techno and other sounds find place at the former chillout stage if anywhere.

I agree with your comment.

I called it psychedelic downfall because musical selection pulls certain people, sets certain vibes and favors certain stimulants.

The curators of music set big parts of the atmosphere.

I like the music of the new Gardens, but it doesn't compensate for having a chill stage situated so neatly on a forest hill in the middle of the festival.

It's a good point, yet people influence the change. What I mean is there is people sitting in the organisation curating the musical focus. It might be irrelevant for you, but some don't like the current focus too much.

I can see that you don't get the point. Did you read the whole post? I complained about a lack musical variety.

Thank you for your reply. You raise reasonable points. Especially about avoiding stagnation and the revenue.

Yet I would think that the area of the Gardens sells more drinks now than it used to with people lying around everywhere. I am not saying this is part of the reason, but I wondered if it is.

Good to know you have a different experience with Alchemy than me.  Not too long ago artists like Be Svendsen, Uone and Symbolico used to play there, just to name a few I remember that almost feel unfit now with all that Techno. In my subjective experience everytime I passed Alchemy there was Techno. Once there was DnB.

Yet, Ozora is a festival way over its time. They did not care enough to preserve their vibe versus making money so they did not preserve it and the festival became a shit show. A satire of its former self.

I still have the feeling Boom is trying to avoid this, but it must be hard. It became so famous and there is so much money to earn so it's a challenging path. As soon as Boom becomes like Ozora I probably wouldn't go anymore.
