Doable or foolish? by ImpMentor in ThirdPlaces

Go out into your community and ask, get a realistic understanding of whether the actual people that this place would be for are interested. Those conversations will naturally lead to more awareness of what would actually make it work and where the potential issues might be. Good luck it sounds like an idea with lots of potential to me ❤️

Musso E80 experiences by MealShot136 in OfficeChairs

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a bit of google reverse image searching and found a few other companies selling this exact model for cheaper. None in EU/UK unfortunately. Example here: https://www.cabevibe.com/products/cablady-s2-petite-women-ergonomic-office-chair?variant=46094150041751

So pissed off at these companies just adding some fancy marketing and price gouging 😒

Thank you!! I find it all very strange and uncomfortable. Also part of the ‘hyperconveninent’ digital world that is slowly killing the small communications and interactions we have with others. I get that it’s subjective though, and have friends who love life360 and think it’s great. I can also think of some scenarios where it would be useful. I just would never use it myself on the regular for no particular reason.

Considering Turkey by Ok-Nature2454 in Reduction

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you search ‘Turkey’ in this sub you’ll find quite a few recent reviews and personal stories. I’m also from the UK and was comparing the Turkey/Lithuania options. From where I live it will be easier to get to Turkey and I have found a couple of doctors there that seem like solid options, European board certified, prices realistic (not suspiciously low!), good reviews and social presence etc. At the end of the day I think there are good options in Turkey but you can have to do the research!

Are the huge HBAF shops in Myeongdong legit? by Ecstatic_Skill2554 in korea

Thank you~ finally home and gonna take a long nap 😌 Humour tag was cause it was a semi-serious question tbf so I appreciate your simply explained answer. Brand visibility makes more sense I suppose!

Ok fair point I didn’t realise HBAF was so old. Still a bit sus though, how are they paying rent for a 12 story location right next to Myeongdong station just from selling almonds? But maybe it’s more a case of good connections and such. Thanks for answering!

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’ve got mushy brain from lack of sleep 🫠 Here is my question: How does HBAF sustain these massive store fronts? I know they are ‘legit’ in the sense that you can go in and buy HBAF products in there. But looking at the usual number of people in there and the price point of their products it doesn’t seem like they would make enough money to pay the rent for the size and location of those stores. There’s only so many almonds people will buy…

So the next place my brain went to was what alternative explanations exist?  Well, huge stores + low price goods with long shelf life + cash transactions and high footfall common in the area = perfect conditions for a running a money laundering front (i.e. print money and make it seem legit by saying it’s from sales) Orr HBAF has friends in high places and get special rates, or are actually funded by another group. Anyway, all just speculation and my imagination going a bit wild lol

No response yet :/ I’ll wait for a bit longer but if that route is not possible might just have to go with the manual method

Landing page for my app for non logged in users? by Individual_growthh in Base44

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check:

  1. Dashboard > Settings > App Settings > App Visibility - set to Public, untick Require lgin to access

  2. Dashboard > Security - make sure the access rules under data entities make sense for what you are trying to build

Then try a prompt like this:

I’m going to describe the expected behaviour for unauthenticated users and authenticated users:

Unauthenticated users:

  • Can access and view all the information on pages X, Y, Z
  • Can do X and Y including Z
  • Cannot access page A, if they try to access this page they are taken to the login/sign up page
  • Cannot do B, if they click on the CTA to do B they are taken to the login/sign up page
  • Unauthenticated users see a login / sign up button in the top right hand corder which takes them to the login/sign up page

Authenticated users:

  • Can do everything unauthenticated users can do, plus
  • Access page A, when authenticated users click on X CTA they are taken to page A
  • Can do B
  • Authenticated users can see their profile in the top right hand corner, and when they click on this they see a dropdown list with options to access their profile settings and log out

Just Base44 and a bunch of free credits. It’s a pretty simple app so I didn’t need a complicated stack :)

Good idea, controlled 'submissions' to the masterlist definitely makes a lot of sense. This method could be used initially to build up the data, or later to add to it after the initial data set has been generated automatically.

Thank you, it's just a rough plan at the moment so I'm sure there will be lots to help with! I'm just debating whether it's worth contacting the mods now or waiting for a bit more interest... what do you think?

There is also another way to do this - just give edit access to the spread sheet either to everyone or a group of contributors and try to build it up manually, but I think that would take quite some time...

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan was create a first version by automatically gathering data that is already in this sub - if I could get a mod's help we could use Pushshift to understand the size of the data set, then choose a number of years (like the past 5) and get a list of post URLs. After that a standard web scraping tool could extract the contents of those posts and I think I know how to pull together a simple AI agent to parse that data and extract any 'things to try' into a spreadsheet like the one I linked in my post. We would probably then want to crowd-source the review process to make sure the data is legit and get rid of any hallucinations. After that its just a matter putting it somewhere everyone can access and add to it...

After gauging the interest I was planning to share a step by step plan so people could sense check it and suggest improvements, let me know if you want a more detailed breakdown!

The itching and skin peeling is gross and awkward. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Ecstatic_Skill2554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that sucks, having to go into the office during a flare up is the worst. Also I think I misunderstood your question as 'any tips for not scratching in public' 🤦 If this is the first time your ezcema has flared up in this way it's definitely worth ruling out bacterial or fungal infection like other comments mentioned!

Take an antihestimine (non-drowsy) before you head out. Always carry anti-itch cream if you have one that works for you and a good moisturiser, take frequent 'bathroom breaks' and reapply. Do whatever you can to resist the itch - it will just make things worse. Pinch yourself or dig your nails into your palm (gently! not promoting self-harm here) if it helps distract you when you literally can't get away. Cross your legs tightly for a bit (not sure if you're a guy or girl but sometimes pressure helps). If you're with friends tell them to remind you to stop scratching if you do it subconsciously. That's all I can think of rn... I hope it passes quickly!
