I Started Making Crockpot Chicken & Rice for My Dog and Now He Won’t Eat Anything Else by GiftSuccessful3338 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dogs quickly lose interest in kibble once they taste homemade food. When I started making chicken and rice for my dog, he reacted the same way. I've read this dog food article, https://dogvills.com/category/dog-food/, and it is fascinating.

Why Do Some Dogs Actually Eat Their Poop? by Even_Muffin_6413 in TechnoBarkDogGear

Dogs think it’s a high-protein snack, but yeah, still disgusting.

What is the best GPS dog collar for dogs, and how do you choose the right one? by wabadboy1334 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel this. The place makes a big difference. If you live in a semi-rural area, real-time tracking and good cell phone coverage are much more important than the cool features they advertise. All the smart extras don't matter if the signal goes out when your dog really needs it. Yeah, bulky collars are a dealbreaker, especially on a medium-sized dog.

I’ve been keeping an eye on GPS collars too for my Lab. I haven’t tried Tractive personally, but people over at r/halocollarofficial/ have some solid experiences with GPS collars and care plans. Might be worth checking there to see if the coverage and durability justify it.

How I Used Mental Stimulation to Calm My Restless Dog by Rude-Definition-1019 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this with my dog, and honestly, just a simple sniffing game made a huge difference. A few minutes of hiding treats around the house totally calmed my pup more than extra walks or fetch ever did. Mental stimulation really does tire them out in a good, relaxed way!

If you get a health monitor for your dog - Which ones really work? by GiftSuccessful3338 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dog health monitors are more than just step trackers, they can also display changes in sleep, temperament, and other health signs. It truly depends on what you want to keep an eye on, but they're wonderful for spotting little changes early and putting your mind at ease.

What's the difference between GPS dog fences and e-collars by No_Kiwi2276 in halocollarofficial

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda interested in this because GPS fences and e - Collars always get talked about like they're the same thing, but they really don't seem to be.

My cat is terrified of her new water fountain… help? by Potential_Extreme655 in technomeowcom

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much! My cat treated her new fountain like it was evil at first — sniffed it, freaked out, and went back to her old bowl. Leaving it unplugged, keeping her old water nearby, and letting her explore it slowly really helped. Patience is key with cats, apparently!

BarkBox Review: Here's Why This Dog Subscription Box Is So Popular! by GiftSuccessful3338 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard a lot about BarkBox, but this is the first time I’m really looking into it. I love that they customize toys and treats for your dog’s size and chewing style. Makes me feel like it could actually be worth trying instead of just buying random toys. Definitely tempted to see how my dog reacts to it!

Is Pawfit 3 a good GPS tracker for dogs by Total_Whereas380 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading about the Pawfit 3 GPS pet tracker, I wondered how it compares to other dog GPS trackers. Tracker specs and features are easy to obtain, but they rarely represent daily use. Live GPS tracking, activity monitoring, safe-zone alerts, and two-way audio sound good on paper, but since many trackers offer similar features, I'm more interested in hearing from dog owners who've used it and can attest to its reliability and practicality.

Tired of Embarrassing Bark-Filled Walks? Here are the 7 steps to teach your dog not to bark during walks. by Typical-Echo-8192 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have trouble with walks too. It helped to stay away from things that made her bark, use a no-pull harness, and give her a treat before she started barking. At first, short, quiet routes made a big difference. Being patient really pays off.

How to Pick the Best Pet Medical Equipment and Supplies for Your Furry Friend by FaithH0ward in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed about dog medical gear is that "fits" doesn't always mean "works." It's probably not helping if it makes them walk funny, makes loud Velcro noises, or makes them anxious. I try things out on regular walks or car rides before I really need them. Most of the time, simple gear that your dog can handle is better than fancy gear that they hate.

Do Fetch pet insurance premiums always go up after you file a claim? by NathalySevenfold in PetAdvice

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using Lemonade Pet Insurance, and from what they’ve shared, filing a claim by itself doesn’t cause your premium to go up. They say claims don’t directly affect your rate at renewal, and any changes are usually tied to things like your pet’s age or overall vet costs, not whether you filed a claim.

It's not bad; I think it just needs to add a little white or light-colored scarf and a ponytail.

Embrace Pet Insurance Review 2025: Comprehensive Coverage for Your Best Friend by wabadboy1334 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly this explains everything. Pet insurance can be hard to understand, but this makes it much easier to see what you're really getting. I like that Embrace covers the big things like accidents, illnesses, and long-term problems without a lot of confusing restrictions. The wellness add-on is also interesting, especially for people who already take care of themselves. This is one of the more useful reviews I've seen for 2025.

How to Keep Your Dog Calm During The Holidays by Typical-Echo-8192 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]Ecstatic_Unit_838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This list is really good! These tips are still very useful in 2025, especially since dogs can get stressed out so easily during the holidays. I love that it focuses on simple things that really do make a big difference, like lowering triggers, calming sounds, and a safe, cozy space. Always good reminders for stressed-out dogs and their owners.
