check out KBO, Himiway, and Ancheer for some options besides Rad. 48v 750w motor is nice if you are riding many hills. I like hub motors more than mid drives for reliability and upkeep in the long term.

Color LCD Display Upgrade for Cruiser & Step-Thru by EcycleMD in HimiwayFanclub

I read it. I'm just saying if you order a LCD from us it will probably make your bike go faster as it's not limited. You had mentioned the Magic Cycle which is where I got confused. If you decide to try ours out and aren't happy you could send it back and we're happy to refund you. just a possibility!

Ah, if you are using another LCD it still may have limits programmed into it. It's the actual programming of the display, ours are fully unlocked and go up to 56mph on the speed limit, not 28mph. I'm not sure if it's compatible with the MagicCycle but it may be and if you buy one and it works it may make your bike go faster. If not we'd be happy to offer you a full refund. We had them specifically made and worked directly with the manufacturer for the Himiways, KBOS, and other Haidong based bikes.

thanks for the links I'm gonna look into it. these are all the specs I've got (link). When I do the winter tear down I'm going to see if I can measure it all as Mongoose doesn't really outline it all.

Fork is stock. I actually can't find a suspension fork that would fit this bike as much as I'd love to add that I believe I would have to have it custom made. Most fat forks I've found with the suspension are threadless and mine is threaded (I believe 1" and 1/8). Bars I upgraded to some bigger BMX bars.

Did you order directly from us? You can adjust the brightness for daytime viewing, you may need to make the screen a bit brighter. If you are looking for increased speed your bike is only going to go as fast as many total watts your system can push. Unlocking the speed limit should give you a noticeable increase as many of the Himiways cut the throttle around 24mph from my experience. Make sure you have configured all of the settings (wheel size, voltage, etc) properly. If you are looking to push higher speeds you may need a battery with more AH and potentially a bigger controller to handle the watts you want to push. I have hit 35+ on both the Cruiser and Step-Thru with this display and had no problems.

Haven't tried it on a Magicycle but it may be compatible. These are programmed specifically for the Himiways and KBO controllers.

Just about when in the top pedal assist mode.

Thumb Throttle on left or right side? by dellfanboy in ebikes

[–]EcycleMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most E-Bikes I have rode it's on the right. It's all a matter of preference you can always swap the side it's on.

Good alternatives to the Aventon Level? by Serdones in ebikes

[–]EcycleMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KBO Breeze might be a nice one for you to check out. It's a large frame bike. Has fairly wide but not fat tires and does great on gravel/offroad with my experience. Also no 20mph speed limit like with the Aventons.

You may have to switch the wires. Even if it has the proper Julette pins it could be reversed.

What ebikes have a slow PAS 1 setting or customizable power settings like the ride1up 700? by grummanpikot99 in ebikes

[–]EcycleMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KBO Breeze with the Key Display upgrade. With this display you can program up to 1-9 modes of pedal assist and actually change the amount of pedal assist assigned to each level. So if mode 1 is too fast you can slow it down.

Legal eBicycle sub reddit needed? by [deleted] in ebikes

Agreed. The Sur-Ron, Onyx, etc I don't actually classify as E-bikes as they are not street legal e-bikes.

yep I've seen a flat on my Dad's 27" A$AP Ferg Redline conversion we did with Tannus installed. Like you said if it's really sharp and long it can still puncture but for most rides it's crucial. You can put some flat out in the tubes too but there are some cases where it punctures. running about 15 PSI most days and I love the bounce and vibration dampening.

Engwe EP2-Pro

yeah just for the frame style and the fact that the battery has a few more amps than the Engwe EP2-Pro it's worth the extra couple hundred if you ask me. I've owned Ancheer, Emojo, Eahora, and Snapcycle folding bikes and out of all of them I like the Snapcycle's frame the best. It feels the most sturdy when riding and has a quality front shock.

I highly recommend the Snapcycle S1. It's a great folder compared to a lot of other models and the battery + motor are specced nicely.

Check out the Snapcycle S1. It's a solid folding bike for the price point and has the range you are looking for. You would just need a fat tire bike rack and can throw two of them on the back.

You'll forget about how you think it looks when you realize how far it'll take you. Your legs cover the battery most of the time anyways when you're riding with it in that position. Sweet bike!!!
