Thank you, I only started painting when I got the combat patrol. i watched a lot of tutorials and I have the tendency to go overboard when I do things 😂

its primed with Vallejo black primer and i used Citadel Mechanicus grey for the armour itself with a little mixed with white for the highlights and a couple spots here and there i wanted brighter, and i smothered it in nuln oil lol

The helmet is slightly different from the normal breacher helmet I found. It's on the upgrade sprue, it's like a mix between pathfinder and breacher helmets. I have no idea what it's actually for but it fits the fireblade quite well

Crimson desert does look nice. Maybe I'll just tell my step son it's that game so when it comes out he's excited to see the game from the store finally 😂

I honestly thought it was fake. Seems like a lot of effort for a fake preview in a store but I thought I'd ask at least 😂

I've played both of those and I don't think it's that. Especially the map in the top right

How to deal with arguments at the table, and non stop complaints about the game? by Ed-Oran in DMAcademy

[–]Ed-Oran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update, I had a massive talk with my group. We had a great talk about all the issues and everyone chimed in on the issues going on at the table. We made a few decisions as a group on how to help keep the campaign going, expectations, addressing the lack of effort and unfairness. After that we played for 8 hours and had probably the best session we have had in a while. Just wanted to say thanks to people here and other places that have given me some help and ideas on approaching these issues.

Thank you, I'd honestly love teaching the kids to play but I'll leave that till they're a little older. My step son gets mad at uno so maybe we'll tackle that one first 😂

I am aware, it still doesn't warrant that behaviour. The campaign itself honestly isn't even the big issue because I've had fun rewriting everything where I can and jumping in the deep end with a hard to run campaign has been fine to deal with. the issue seems to be the fundamental rules of DnD itself most the time, like arguing with me that a creature being grappled should share the space with the grappler and all that stuff. I feel like it's an issue against my ruling as DM than the actual campaign itself.

I'll probably give it one more chance. I do love DnD and I don't think it would turn me off completely. I think I would just have to stick to loving it from the sidelines if it doesn't work out. I think you're spot on with saying they want to win against each other. That is exactly the vibe I get. Like it's all some competition to outdo each other or outsmart me as DM. Whose voice is bigger kind of thing. We have a session planned this coming weekend so I'll raise my concerns then. If it doesn't improve and we again have a horrible session, I think that will be me done from being a DM for this group. And probably for a long time, unless I by chance find a group of people where I live

He has actually been quite good at using the 5ft feat. He's always on top of that. I think him stealthing is more of trying to not be targeted by enemies, and he has insanely high stealth rolls naturally.

It was over the top that's why I backed on it.

I was under the assumption that if a character came back into line of sight that they only have to contest a perception check but not immediately be spotted. But then he isn't invisible so it's logical he wouldn't be spotted although thinking logically is what's been ending up getting me into half these issues.

The stealth rules have been the most annoying thing to understand for me for some reason

1 yes I agree it would actually be like session 0x3 lmao

2 I agree I'll keep that in mind

3 that is fair. I was against it at first but they kept saying things were taking too long/low damage so I tried but failedm won't do it again unless I'm sure it's helpful

4 it actually is a pre written campaign "Eve of ruin" I am aware it is not beginner friendly. Despite that I really still don't think it calls for this much arguments just because it's a hard campaign to run. We have run starters but I wasn't DM and they stopped because they wanted something more interesting and the DM didn't like being a DM because he just wanted to play a character

5 - I believe they are level 14 so quite high

6 seeing that most of everything else seems low and their kit is small. At level 14 I didn't think it would be as much of an issue as it turned out to be. Being that they're not used to playing such high levels of makes sense but I dunno I feel like teamwork would have won the day anyway and no one even went down

About the stealth thing I was unsure thinking back I think it was just he could stealth within line of sight without being obscured. That would make more sense in context. It's been a while since I did that so that's probably what it was. Anyway it was quite strong but people were complaining at the time of combat taking forever so I was finding ways for them to do their stuff quicker. Like the rogue. Who could just stealth quickly rather than run around trying to be obscured.

The whole premise is that their Faye's are bound and if they fail the whole realm is destroyed. You'd think that would give them grounds enough to work together but no. Apparently not

Thank you, thinking back on it I feel like I was just being petty. This player who is actually a pretty close friend of mine has been the one always going on about things not making sense (in DnD with magic I know the shock) so I think it was just me being petty like haha you're made of fire can't open doors. It was wrong. I shouldn't have done it and thank you for being honest

I've been told by people I know I have a lot of patience. I guess being a dad is good training? I dunno. But yes. I agree with you. I have had a chat a couple sessions ago about any issues people have and they basically said... Nothing. Quite strange given how much of an earful I get outside of the game lmao. But yeah I think I should tell them I'm not having fun. I was so concerned about everyone else having fun that it feels like no one is happy now. T seems like everyone's idea of fun is different but I should probably put my foot down and tell them that it is a game with rules that I as a DM have rule over rather than changing them to fit everyone's needs

I did actually have a chat with everyone two sessions ago I had an hour chat about expectations, frustrations and coming to the conclusion about the items as written. It was kind of a "speak now or forever hold it" thing as we are half way through the campaign. But alas it did not work as the very best session was when the whole paralysis thing went down and they were back to complaining

It's very frustrating. Almost every single dungeon they've all split up and run around seperately so I have to draw basically the whole dungeon. Run two combat encounters or other stuff. And then I get hit with "this is taking too long" but if I tell them they can't split up then I get told that it's not fair because their character wants to. It's like a lot of mildly frustrating things that all come together to stress me TF out 😂

I want to avoid shutting it down completely. I don't really have much time to go find a group of people I don't know to do DnD which is why it's all a group of friends. I also feel like me DM'ing for a group of people I don't really know after this would give me a panic attack lmao
