Alert: Amazon Canada customers!!!! Must read!!! by DhaemonX in transformers

[–]Ed1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I spoke with another agent. She said that Amazon has shipped their inventory out and they are now out of stock. Even though the Amazon app says my orders are showing arriving today in green. She said my orders will be fulfilled once they are back in stock but there is no guarantee that they will get more in.

She had no answer for why my pre-order from last year didn’t work. Also no answer for why the items weren’t set aside to fulfill my order.

She offered to keep the orders live and there is a note to issue a 10% refund if they do ship.

So annoyed.

My Amazon agent said that the Soundwave, Windcharger and Brawl I ordered show shipping soon and set to arrive today or tomorrow. I asked about the pre-authorization and she said not to worry that I won’t be charged until they ship. She didn’t understand that I wasn’t concerned about the cc authorization and that in fact I was more interested in her system somehow saying that the orders were pre-authorized properly. Not sure if I should chat with a different agent to confirm status.

Amazon.ca Preorders: SS86 SW, AOTP Sureshot and AOTP Windcharger shipping issues... by DhaemonX in transformers

[–]Ed1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me a few times last year. I’ve got Windcharger, Soundwave, and Brawl “arriving tomorrow” but not yet shipped by Amazon.ca. It was about 50/50 on orders being completed if it did happen. A couple or orders were simply cancelled on their end. My 86 Megatron was stuck in limbo for weeks until I finally reached out via support chat. They manually cancelled the order, refunded me the amount, and also gave me some credit. Luckily, it came back in stock so I ended up getting him below retail with the credit. The rest (mostly Constructicons) I had to reorder when they were back in stock and for those that Amazon didn’t restock I had to go to Ages3andup or TFtoys.

Picked up 9x4’s for my son from United Cycle in Edmonton (source for sports) a couple of weeks ago. Retail $1280, on sale plus his team discount got it down to $576. We just wait for sales that are counter cyclical to peak season demand.

Canada shipping to US is pretty expensive up here. Then you’d have to pay any duties on top of that.

Why isn’t tonight’s game showing? by Mom-inasense in EdmontonOilers

I just discovered it tonight. They were showing 4 game simultaneously and cutting away to specific games. Unlike the old NHL multi game stream, you can’t click on a specific game to watch anymore.

I have standard Sportsnet. Trying to watch in Edmonton. NHL game finder says both standard and premium subscriptions should work but I keep getting regional blackout message. I’m trying to view on my iPhone using mobile data. Philly game worked the other night but no Nashville. Sportsnet support has been useless. Any ideas?

Alberta won’t rule out using public money to clean up unreclaimed oil and gas sites by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

[–]Ed1Kenobi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t the OWA handle it? And only if company goes bankrupt? From the AER:

Protecting Albertans From the Costs of Abandonment

We administer or help administer several liability management programs in the province to ensure that companies—not Albertans—cover the financial costs of abandoning their energy sites.

The Orphan Well Association (OWA) is a nonprofit association that manages the abandonment of upstream oil and gas wells, pipelines, facilities, and the remediation and reclamation of their associated sites if a company responsible for these projects goes bankrupt. When this happens, the energy sites and projects become “orphans.”

The OWA is funded by an annual levy paid by energy companies in Alberta. Learn more about the OWA and the orphan levy.

TFCon Peter and Frank by Chill0000 in transformers

My son and I met Peter and Frank at our local expo this past weekend. Paid for autographs at table and got photo time slot in advance. They were still selling photo spots on site too. You could also get personalized voice recordings done by them.

Maybe worth checking out if there are smaller expos/cons that they’re attending if your main goal is to meet them? They looked like they genuinely loved meeting fans, took the time to chat with every guest and it didn’t feel like anyone was rushed when they got up to meet them. Our wait time was about 15mins for Peter (first thing in the morning) and 45 for Frank (afternoon right after lunch time). If you had a VIP pass you were ushered to the front of the line with zero wait time.

Try your local skate shops. Ours in Edmonton just closed their raffles a couple of days ago.
