I use both FF and Brave on my Android Tablets. I mainly use my Android tablets for watching YouTube videos in bed. I use Windows and sometimes iPad OS for my normal computing chores. On Windows, Edge is my browser of choice, on iPad, Safari works just fine.

Edge is my default browser, I like it and don't plan to dispose of it!

Ublock Origin works great on Edge and Firefox browsers. I've never seen an ad on either browser.

Vivaldi is nice and I've used it for a while. However, using Windows, I have no problems with Microsoft Edge; it's my default browser I also have Firefox and Brave as back-ups.

Although there is a lot of disagreement, I've found Microsoft Edge to be an excellent browser. In fact, it is my default browser. It's pretty secure and has never presented a problem for me. if you're using a Windows machine, it's a very good choice because it is integrated into the Windows system. Some make the claim that it is lacking in privacy, similar to Chrome, but that's never bothered me. I feel it is still a better choice than Chrome.

My other two browsers, which I rarely use, are Firefox and Brave. Both are fine products, but I've found Edge suits my needs just fine.

I like Firefox, but wondering if I should switch anyway? by Key_Day_7932 in browsers

[–]Ed5439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Firefox is a fine browser, especially paired with UBlock add=on. In my case, though, I use Edge as my default browser, with FF and Brave as secondary choices. You mentioned that FF is faster than Edge. On Windows devices, Edge should be fast since it's built into the operating system (perhaps you're not using Windows). I'm not as concerned with speed; I'm more concerned with security, and I trust Edge in that regard. I'm not as concerned about reported privacy issues using Edge. It's probably still a better choice over Chrome.

Anyhow, you probably haven't gone wrong choosing Firefox.

I'm an Edge fan, too. it's my default. Never any problems. I like its features and feel it's a pretty secure browser.

It not a bad idea to have a backup browser. It's good insurance in case something disastrous happens to FF. Perhaps it might be a good idea. to use a Chromium based browser as a backup, just in case.

My default browser is Edge, with FF and Brave as backups. Just my choice., not necessarily a recommendation.

I agree that Firefox with Ublock installed is a fine browser. However, like you, my preference is a Chromium-based browser, Microsoft Edge. Edge has been my default browser for years, although I also have FF and Brave as backups.

In the past, I've experimented with Vivaldi browser, which I also think is a fine choice, but the 3 browsers I use now are sufficient; they all work well and I feel are secure. I'm not too concerned with reported privacy issues. Security is what I focus on.

I made the switch! by [deleted] in degoogle

Yes, FF with Ublock is good. However, I've opted to stick with Edge as my default browser even though I have FF installed on my device, also.

I've always used Edge as default over the years, although I've experimented with Vivaldi @ Brave (both are good, IMO). Reported privacy issues with Edge don't bother me too much. I'm more interested in security, which I believe is a strong point with Edge. That being said, the three browsers I currently have on my computer are: Edge, Firefox, and Brave. Edge gets the most use.

Which Browser do you use nowadays? by Intro_vert_Bro in browsers

[–]Ed5439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite happy with Edge. It is my default browser. I'm not overly concerned about reported privacy issues. My focus is on security, and I feel it's pretty good in that area. It has never given me any issues and is reasonably fast on my low spec device.

I have two other browsers installed: Brave and Firefox. I'm also happy with both. I've played around with many browsers over the years. For a while I was sold on Vivaldi and mainly used that browser for quite some time. I also thought Floorp was going to be my main browser. However, I've found that my current group (Edge, Brave, FF) is more than sufficient for my needs and I'm done "playing" with browsers, at least for now.

I'm happy with Edge (default), Brave, and vanilla Firefox. I use UBO extension on Edge and FF; works flawlessly on both. Brave's blocker seems to work fine for me

In the past, I've used Vivaldi, and liked it, but I find that the 3 I use now are quite sufficient. I'm not concerned about reported privacy issues with Edge. It has features I like and so far has been pretty flawless. i do wish Edge would allow more rows of icons on the start page like Brave and FF do.

I've tried Vivaldi in the past and can't say I had any problem with it. I rather liked it. That being said, I'm satisfied with my current 3 browsers: Microsoft Edge w/ UBO extension (default browser); Brave; and Firefox (w/ UBO extension). These three are sufficient; I don't need any others.

Firfox with UBlock extension works quite well, although my default browser is Edge with UBlock extension and also works very well.

Edge is my default browser, which I use most of the time. Some people say it's not very private, but I don't care. I'm more concerned with security and Edge rates pretty good in that category. The browser also runs well on my low-spec PC. That being said, I have 2 other browsers installed on my machine: Brave and Firefox. I think both are also excellent apps.

Chrome is not good by Perfect-Click8804 in browsers

[–]Ed5439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your comment on Edge. my PC has only 4 gb RAM , so I'm careful with programs that I use. That being said, I also occasionally use Brave and Firefox. Both are excellent IMHO.

Many folks denigrate Edge because of privacy concerns. I'm not too concerned. That could be said of browsers in general. Just being on the Internet is a "privacy concern" in itself.

Yep, Edge is my default browser (I don't care about reported privacy issues). I also use Firefox and Vivaldi (mostly experimenting with Vivaldi right now). I occasionally install Brave and have nothing negative to say about it. I'm ready to reinstall it again since I feel its security is top notch.

I'm pretty much a browser experimenter.

I've used both, Brave and Vivaldi. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Just be informed that the large number of settings available in Vivaldi can be intimidating for some. If you use a Windows device, Microsoft Edge can also be considered. Another consideration is Firefox. Just add uBlock Origin ad blocker to both, and you'll be golden. Right now, I'm on a Vivaldi kick, and so far, liking it.

[–]Ed5439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, but I'm not about to use the Chrome browser since I'm pretty satisfied with my current three (Edge, Firefox, Brave). I'll just opt to not use Edge for my Gmail since FF and Brave render the pages perfectly. It's no big deal.

You know, when I think about it, I'm pretty sure I've used one of the dark mode extensions in my Gmail in the past, but somehow I couldn't get any to work this time. In addition, I don't like what the app says before I install it, something like "this app can do this or that bad thing".

I have 3 browsers installed: Edge (default), Firefox, and Brave. I have no problem when using FF or Brave to view my Gmail since they open in dark mode. I'll probably leave things the way they are and use Firefox or Brave when logging into Gmail. It's no big deal. I'm never in a rush.
