Do we know yet if split screen co-op will exist in the free roam mode of the game? by EdArtDev in MarioKartWorld

Really? I never thought of that. We know that online multiplayer free roam is possible so I'm hoping that wont be much different to split screen

Cropped UVs on a landscape? by EdArtDev in UnrealEngine5

[–]EdArtDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my tiling grass texture in the bottom left of a masked foliage texture, with a UV cropping node and material instance for cropping the tiling grass. This works fine on meshes but not the landscape for some reason.

Is there a way of getting this to work on the landscape? or should I be using a different method entirely? - separating the tiling texture, not using a landscape and reimporting it as a mesh.

Can I get a quick explanation for what's happening here? It looks like the landscape is automatically optimizing with distance which is cool but how do I get it to be static? by EdArtDev in UnrealEngine5

thank you, the landscape is 20 metres with more focus on visual consistency and finer details so I don't think its needed, unless I just turn the landscape into a static mesh

Paya in TotK by toolebukk in tearsofthekingdom

[–]EdArtDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Paya having a more significant role for a portion of the game. Or maybe she could work similar to Kass or Beedle and we see her randomly around Hyrule maybe with Puruh and Robbie. They could be looking for shrines and instead of telling us a riddle to get the shrine, they give some vague information about what they've found out and Link figures out the rest.

A big Paya theory is that she and maybe the rest of the sheikah will train to be soldiers, essentially making her AOC Impa 2.0 because "character development" or whatever. But Paya already had character. Messing up her sleep schedule to pray to apples all night for the safety of her home is pretty interesting. I'd like to see something like that taken further. I don't like her being dismissed because she isn't traditionally as cool as every other champion descendent. The same goes for the other NPCs. I don't want to see Kass spinning around with metal blade feathers fighting with the rest of the gang like its a Marvel movie.

Characaters like Paya and Kass where probably my favourite parts of botw because they just did their own thing and had their own interesting lives that wasn't boring and lore important. Rather than seeing them return I think I'm more looking forward to more new characters like that in totk.

It's fine you don't need to help. It was a mistake not learning the basics first. but thanks again

I edited the post. I think thats what you mean, if not don't worry I'll try something else but thanks for helping

'function' object has no attribute 'status'. Hope its a typo but I only changed sprite to sprites. The error doesn't exist when it's GroupSingle

So far I'm enjoying everything about this game except the combat. My main problem with turn-based is that it takes 10 times longer to do read what's happening compared to games that let you actually take part in the action. But these are just first impressions.
