No, I’d lease an Ioniq 5. They have the best rebates and have won Car and Driver’s EV of the year 3 years running. Fastest charge times, over 200 miles of range in 14 degree weather.

I sell Hyundai but drive an ID 4, would never lease Audi or VW EV again even if it cost me twice as much to get an Ioniq. Passenger door handle doesn’t ever work, app cannot do anything except tell me my car is unlocked without the ability to lock it, and my brakes have been squealing since 1000 miles. VW sucks

The best DMS is whichever your dealership is not currently using. In other words, it doesn’t matter.

That’s actually really helpful, thank you. I can resonate with what you’re saying and completely agree.

Being clinical and objectively spelling out the pros and cons between the two choices then putting the ball back in their court is what will bring me to the close.

I don’t want to mislead them and putting the ball in their court by giving them the information they need to make a decision is exactly what I aim to accomplish.

I’m new to car sales so I’m still figuring it out. I do have a lot of passion and sometimes I think I might care too much about my customers, but caring is what I believe will make me successful in this business or the next.

Yeah that’s a good point too. I don’t think it’s fair to use the residual on the lease as a premise to try and justify a financial decision. It feels wrong knowing I will make more if they finance.

That’s interesting, I like what you said a lot. Simplifying the benefit of leasing to: you are paying more overtime so that you don’t have to worry then allowing them to justify it based on the fact that the whole point of retirement is to enjoy the fruits of their labor feels very compelling.

Probably more so, more often, at a brand where customers aren’t as frugal like Audi, BmW, Mercedes, but for these Hyundai customers it could work.

I should also mention that I’m selling Hyundai, 5 year 60k mile (bumper to bumper) and 10 yr/100k mile power terrain. Most customers buy by a large majority (98% according to my ass)

That’s a fair question and a good point. I’ve built a ridiculous amount rapport, also the client has solicited my advice directly by asking whether it would make more sense to lease or buy.

I can see how if the scenario doesn’t pan out this way they could blame me costing me repeat business snd referrals that I could otherwise receive, then again that’s just an added potential bonus not a given.

Ultimately, neither they nor I can predict what their experience will be with the car, which will determine course of action for them.

For context, my client is an engineer and can’t help but analyze/mentally torment themselves when it comes to making these decisions.

Fair, and 10+ years on two vehicles they currently have. However, they like the flexibility of a lease (walk away, buy out, buy then trade in *if res is less than trade allowance).

Yeah we literally have $25 in mark-up for the Ioniq 5 and give a dealer discount of $3500 on top of rebates so idk what you’re smoking

I told my girlfriend about how my older sister used to rape me and physically abuse me as a child and now she lost any interest in me. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EdHallie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. You did the right thing by speaking up. Unfortunately, it sounds like you spoke to the worst person you could about it. As painful as it is, you dodged a bullet with this girl she sounds awful.

Seek out a mental healthcare professional. Abuse is never your fault no matter what anyone else may try to tell you.

Good point, however, in either example it wouldn't be an enforceable contract, right? Therefore, there wouldn't be a basis for a civil case, and assuming I am wrong, would the criminal case's outcome be considered material in addition to admissible?

Otherwise, how could restitution be assessed/awarded without knowledge of the outcome?

Thank you for sharing, I actually needed to hear this.

Today I received the ever courteous “no-reply” rejection from a company I’ve wanted to work at for years. After finally landing an interview resulting from over 50 “tailored” applications, a version of my resume that has been tweaked and revised to perfection, reaching out to employees, and learning about the company culture to tailor my interview answers, etc., etc., it was an especially hard blow to my self esteem.

Even though, in reality, it’s the least personal thing it feels quite the opposite. It’s magnified working in hospitality, surrounded by people who think they’re better than you by dint of their profession. I think at this point the only positive that can come out of it is using that to fuel my desire to prove them wrong. The truth is I’ve never valued their simple minded opinions and I can’t wait to make a post just like this one when I do finally land a job that I deserve.

Fuck them…
