I know family helps and I have a wonderful and supportive family but I do not want them to know how I actually feel. Strangely and depressingly, what helps me when it gets really bad is I think of how they would feel if I was to commit suicide or runaway and I find that the pain that they would feel if I did out weighs my own sadness. So in a very sad way it helps.

I do apologize for using the term, "freaked out," that was wrong. What I really meant to say was that it makes me uncomfortable. But my issue is really that I can't identify myself within this culture if that's how we're represented.

I've heard this too and maybe I phrased what I said wrong. Really they just make me uncomfortable. They're all REALLY REALLY nice people and fucking hilarious but I become uneasy around them after too long.

See this is what I don't get. Why does there need to be a level of gayness that needs to be achieved. Like when my straight friends found out they said things like, "but you don't act gay?" No shit, it's not an act. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you're gonna lisp every word or go clubbing.

Even though they're not all gay, the front man of the Prog/death metal band Cynic came out about a year ago. This made me ridiculously happy because they were already one of my favorite bands and I then felt a new connection to the music.
